According to a recent Walmart ad dug up by NeoGAF user ghostmind, a whole slew of new PS3 titles will soon be added to the $29.99 Greatest Hits collection. Featured on the ad are five games which will apparently get the red box treatment: LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition, Killzone 2, inFAMOUS, Resistance 2 and UFC 2009 Undisputed. Actually, according to the flyer, the games are being offered for $29.83. That, dear readers, is the Walmart difference.
We've contacted Sony America to find out if the Walmart ad is authentic, but we have no reason to believe it's a mock-up. We mean, all those games are "hits," and they're all pretty "great," right?

well its about that time, all have been on the market long enough and have sold enough units....so why not? Still wonder why Heavenly Sword is still $50 at some places....
on a side note I DO wish PS3 Greatest hits were just $19...if LBP GotY dropped that cheap I damn sure would buy it again.....
hell at its current price, I'd have to check my math, but it could possibly be cheaper to buy it for $29 than to buy the original and then all the DLC

I know it's stupid, but I refuse to buy any PS3 game with a red box.

I wouldn't mind GoW3 coming in red. Ninja Gaiden Sigma came in red and it looks pretty sweet.

What they should have done is instead of matte red cases, it should have been transparent red. We can't see the inner art of many games that have gone Greatest Hits.

The old playstation 3 logo along the side with the tiny greatest hits banner on top was okay, but with the new thicker PS3 logo, with the greatest hits banner up top, and the red box to go along with it is a bit much.

I'd pay extra to have the red 'Greatest Hits' packaging rather than the EU/UK's Yellow Platinum packaging! It just looks so cheap in silver & yellow. I've always thought the NA got the better deal in terms of the packaging.
Oddly we seem to get these games on the budget range much much sooner than NA do. Though im sure theres still deals out there, but there seems to be a good 4-6 months delay putting it onto the budget range compared to Europe.

Unless you don't like gameplay where you have to climb (Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, The Saboteur, etc), it is good.

If quality game mechanics, excellent storyline, and all around fun gameplay aren't your thing, then no don't buy it.

If you think it's terrible, don't buy it. I bought the game on day one, played it for a few months then sold it. Mainly because the AI was so annoying and predictable, but also because the whole game just lost its appeal to me. I'll be a bit more cautious when Infamous 2 comes around.

Wow, you people are harsh. I was saying the demo wasn't good, not the game. The demo just felt like you were plopped into the middle of the game and there was no clue on what was happening, who you are, and why you're doing the things you're doing.
I don't know, the thing just didn't feel...right? I'm not exactly sure what it was. Just didn't care for the demo.

Awesome. I rented inFamous and beat the Good side, but I definitely want to go back for the Evil side. Great, great game. Well worth $30.
I've already got Killzone 2, LBP and Resistance 2, so the price drop won't help me there. Also games worth checking out. The DLC maps for KZ2 are awesome, and LBP has all kinds of content available. I was kinda annoyed that Resistance 2 wasn't supported with DLC, however, but it's still a fun game.

I like the American greatest hits version much better. Here in Korea they use the moniker "Big Hits" and they all have an ugly yellow stripe down the spines. The cover art is shrunk onto a white background and its just ugly.

I don't know why, but I will not buy any PS3 game if it isn't in the new style. I don't know why, and I know it's really stupid, but I can't get myself to do. I like for my thinks to be in and orderly fashion, and if one thing is wrong, I'll bugs me. So I'm happy Killzone 2, and inFamous are Greatest Hits now; I can actually buy them.

Wow, I could have given you $15 for it, and you wouldn't even have to hear my ramble on about preorders and magazine subscriptions.

@Dr. Blight
I totally feel you. The old and new PS3 logos are not pretty sitting next to each other on my shelf (I have them sorted alphabetically by title).
I gave my brother my copy of LBP last year and have been trying to find a copy of the old version for less than $30 new (since I have all the DLC content purchased already). I guess the GOTY edition will do.

I'm a total 360 fan, but I really dug Infamous. I was playing a solid good character until a crucial decision toward the end of the game. The moral decisions were actually pretty intense. Great game. One of my top PS3 games to date.
