10 games added to PS3 Greatest Hits lineup, Sony confirms

Looks like the Walmart ad we posted yesterday actually undersold the number of PS3 games that Sony will soon add to the $30 Greatest Hits collection. The following 10 titles will be decked in red and reduced in price in the U.S. and Canada within the next few weeks:

inFAMOUS (Sony Computer Entertainment)
God of War Collection (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Killzone 2 (Sony Computer Entertainment)
LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Resistance 2 (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Dead Space (Electronic Arts)
Fight Night Round 4 (EA Sports)
Resident Evil 5 (Capcom)
Soulcalibur IV (Namco Bandai Games)
UFC 2009 Undisputed (THQ)

That's a pretty good assortment of quality titles -- assuming, of course, that this isn't some kind of horribly distasteful April Fools' Day joke.

That's a pretty serious lineup.

Dude Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and Infamous were some of PS3's best titles last year. I'm surprised that they're already $30...

Resistance 2 was 08, Killzone 2 is past the one year mark. But inFamous is surprising.

Infamous Is past the 9 month mark tho....they all should have long ago been in the GH category....

yea i'll probably pick up inFamous and GOW collection this summer. i am really surprised to see GOW collection though, didn't that just come out like 3 or 4 months ago? but it guess it's only a $10 drop for that anyway though right?

What's the point of "reducing" GoW Collection's price to $29.99? That's what I bought it for...

I'm guessing it'll be $20 instead of $30.

I'm thinking that one miiiight be one of those greatest hits titles that actually falls on the $20 mark.. At least I hope so, since it's been $30 everywhere for a couple months now.

The MSRP will drop down from $40 to $30. If an individual retailer chooses to discount it further thats on them but the MSRP will finally go down.

I paid $39.99 for it last year before it got reduced to $29.99. It did in fact get a price drop of $10 a few weeks so I see no point it becoming a Greatest Hits when its already $30.

It launched for $40. It went down to $30. Now, it's $30, but with different marketing. Trust me, I work in retail, and there are people who wouldn't have bought it, yet will now, all because they slapped a phrase on there that could possibly refer to good reviews/sales.

If this is true what a wonderful week to kick my world of warcraft habbit. All those great games i have missed over the years of procrastination / stuck in azeroth doing the same thing every stinking day for years has finally payed off lol. Right now working through FFXIII and enjoying it a lot. It's nice to get back to gaming where there is an end to the game and not the same fight over and over and over ad nauseum. :D

Soul Calibur IV is already out in the greatest hits box. I saw it at Walmart last night.

You can get Dead Space for 20 bucks new at most places already.

Some of these titles (UFC, Dead Space, and Soul Calibur) have already begun shipping in the new red cases.

I think it's about time for LittleBigPlanet. Sony's going to see revitalized numbers from me for it!

This better not be April Fools cause this is an amazing deal. There's at least 3 games I'm gonna pick up from that list.

Get Dead Space before InFamous. InFamous is good, but not nearly as good as Dead Space is.

God of War Collection, Dead Space, and Resident Evil 5 have been at the $30 or under for a while now. I don't see the point of Greatest Hits, it would be really stupid if the price was raised to $30 now.
I don't have and haven't played any of the last four on the list and God of War Collection. I've been interested in RE5, if the Gold Edition is $30 maybe I'll get it. If GoW goes to $20 or less I might get it.

I'd say it comes down to taste, really. I enjoyed both games equally, inFamous was definitely more fun to play.

Soul Calibur 4 is already below 30 on Amazon and it's not bright red.

That said I'm still looking forward to that lineup, I'll be picking up a few when I get my slim. Not sure whether I'm going to pickup Resistance 2 or Killzone 2 though.

Killzone 2. One of the best games on the PS3.

Killzone 2 for sure. I started playing the MP again and i forgot how much fun it was. To be fair the only time ive spent with Resistance 2 was the beta. It was good but not enough to warrant a buy from me. $30 is still too much imo.

You can often find games for slightly less on Amazon but keep in mind shipping and handling charges. Shipping is only free is you buy two eligible games or more.
And yeah, I'd say KZ2 as well.

There are several games listed that I'm interested in, but I know that some store will have a "buy 2, get 1 free" sale in the coming months. If I've waited this long, I can wait yet another few months for an even better deal.

I wonder why Heavenly Sword or Motorstorm PR isn't GHs yet? Must have not done well sales.

Heavenly Sword sold 1 million units in May '08.

PS3 Greatest Hits requirements are 10 months old and at least 500,000.

That game must have been so expensive to produce that they are intent on keeping it at full retail price until they can cover what they paid Andy Serkis to Gollum it up.

Yeah, no joke. I keep wanting to pick up a new copy of Heavenly Sword (all the used ones at my local GameStop all have cases that look like shit, even ones that come in after my most recent check). That game was fun as hell and I want it in my collection, but not for no $40.

I've already seen Dead Space for $19.99 at my local HMV for months now. So will they be... increasing that price? :D

Yeah, it's been that much new at Gamestop for a while now. I've been meaning to pick it up for a while but I can't justify buying yet another long RPG right now.

Very cool news... since I already have LBP (but not the dlc for it), I may just get the GOTY edition for the deal it is!

What is the DLC included on the LBP GOTY disc? MGS levels? GoW skins? Acronyms galore?

damn i should pick up LBP, i sold that away because i had no imagination, but as soon as i did that i thought of at leat 5 cool lbp levels. and by saving 30$, i just might dip in to that juicy DLC they have...

I had been meaning to try Resistance 2 for a while (even though the first one was generic as shit) and was waiting for a price drop, but I swear I just read an interview with one of the Insomniac guys that basically gave R2 a "no confidence" vote. Am I imagining that?

Oh well, back to Ratchet and Clank then, I guess.

I liked Resistance 2. I played it, beat it and spent maybe 20 hours with the multiplayer. I'd say it's worth buying at that price but it's by no means a perfect game.

I JUST picked up LBP GOTY Edition last weekend... Wish I had known of the price drop before. If it wasn't so awesome, I'd be pissed right now.

I'll be honest when I say I'd love a Devil May Cry/Final Fantasy X Collection.
