Jeez, I don't even watch CSI that much... Yet I think about it 4 times a day with the gags of it.

Like all memes it will fade away into obscurity soon enough. May as well have fun with it now rather than complain about something you can't stop. For the record, I've never watch CSI: Miami but I still find the Horatio meme to be hilarious.

I had a real loser of a roommate one year in college. He skipped showing up for court twice. Judges really don't care for that kind of disrespect. If he had shown up the first time, he would have been sentenced a day or two in jail. After skipping out twice, they sent him for like 2 months.

I would say this guy will get a harsher sentence.

Feed him to the robot lions! They have no need to eat, so they tend to kill much more slowly while leaving more organs intact for the rest of us.

I have to say, maybe it's a sign of me getting old but is it just me or does it look like he's yet to start having to shave! I mean Jesus! If you're going to be a criminal at least have the good grace to be surly. Even as a techno-criminal at least look like Moss from the IT Crowd, not some twerp trying to figure out how he can get his dad to lend him the car to go on a hot date!

Hey no argument here, Moss and the IT Crowd rocks. It's how I explain my day to day life to my better half. I sat her down and said "watch this." I had one co-worker who was Moss incarnate. Sadly I'm more of a cross between Roy and Richmond not as bright as Moss. :-P I have to say my fav thing I've seen Richard Ayoade in was the Nanagedon episode of Mighty Boosh he guest stared in. "You don't know the crunch!"

Wow... he really lucked out on being let off for skipping his initial arraignment. Hopefully he has enough sense to show up for the new date because I'll willing to bet this is a one time reprieve.

Atomic, you made your point; drop the charges. This kid obviously has issues and doesn't understand the severity as much as everyone else does.

If they drop the charges, the next teenage moron who thinks 'real life(tm)' is just as carefree and without responsibilities as teh intarwebs is just going to try doing what he did. After all, if he got away with it for 'having issues' and not understanding the severity of his actions, maybe I can too...

Atomic is a a bit over the top with their 6 million dollar claims, but the kid probably should be made to go to court. Given that he has no record he'll still likely get off pretty lightly... at least if he has sense enough not to skip his new court date.

I'm still not clear on the details of this. In the original story, they say he was stealing the code, but I don't see why the source would be accessible at a games convention?

I have a feeling he was actually trying to steal a current build of the game. I would have a hard time finding that to be worth 6 million.

Also, either way, it's not theft because he's trying to copy a copy, not deprive the owner of the original. Not saying he should be let off, I'm just saying there doesn't seem to be much clarity on what he was actually doing.
