April Fools: Halo film finishes the fight for love

Of all the April Fools jokes created for today, IGN may have just unleashed the best. It's the missing trailer for the once-was-gonna-happen Halo film. We don't want to ruin it for you, but let's just say that Master Chief is uniquely able to straddle the line between being a fighter and a lover. Where else did you think all of that Spartan research money went?

Anyway, hit up the Man Cannon and fly past the break to finally see the face of Master Chief!

Agreed, ironic that they're both Halo related. I hope some bollywood producer actually does make this flick. I'd pay Earth money to see that.

The scene on the Phantom is just priceless.

The looney bun was fine, but Halo Chess is divine.

I'm wondering if that is somewhat showing the expanded versatility of the new Forge. I'd gladly play some Halo chess, especially if I get to teabag the king at the end.

I'm so glad I didn't read any reactions before I watched it. The moment it went Bollywood, I lost my shit. So awesome. I watch a lot of BW movies, and that looked completely legit.

While I don't think the Halo film would have ended up well, we got District 9 as a direct result of it.

Was District 9 even good? I have it just haven't watched it.

District 9 was incredible, it was nominated for best picture!

You should watch it. Better on Blu-Ray though. Don't read up on it at all, just pop it in and watch it, lowering your expectation.

I loved it! Rallied a whole group of male and female friends to see it, and all of the girls loved it. It's different.

District 9 is a great, great movie. It was jarring to see what I affectionately refer to as the "Iron Man" Tribute (you'll know it when you see it) but it was otherwise excellent. And a nice giant F-U from Blomkamp to those who doubted.

Might watch it after I grind in FF13 some. Thanks for the input guys. Love to hear your opinions.

Wow, that's quite an assumption you made there. My comment had nothing to do with me liking or disliking Halo. But for the record, I'm not a Halo fan. In fact, I couldn't care less what they do with Halo. It's an aggressively average series.

My point was that they laid off a ton of people last month, then this video ... I'm sure it was pretty costly. You'd think they would worry more about keeping employees aboard than burning money on stupid shit like this.
