It's ironic that they chose Orson Scott Card in creating the DA comics. This article explains the issue: http://www.pinkkryptonite.com/2010/03/because_everythings_better_wit.html

Get the game, get everything else but don't get the comics.

It's amazing OSC still gets work after being so visibly tied to one of the biggest flops of the last generation, Advent Rising. Still, as much as I dislike the guy I'm not going to pass up the chance to grab the first Dragon Age comic. After that, whatever, but my appreciation of the universe trumps any issues I have with any individual.

Sorry, Wil, but that's a moronic argument. Are you seriously implying that Card is incapable of writing a decent story in the Dragon Age universe because some of the characters in your party may or may not be gay and he's opposed to same-sex marriage in the real world? Because that's a pretty seriously flawed argument. I mean, say what you want about the guy but dismissing someone over an opinion that they hold that you happen to disagree with is pretty narrow-minded. What makes you any different from him?

Just ordered the comic.

And despite its faults, Advent Rising was and still is quite awesome.

Oh, and Shadow Complex is the bomb.

OSC ftw!

@KireXD

I know, I was very disappointed to see Ramos only did the cover.. particularly since I don't particular care for the art in the book.

Yo dawg I heard you like the option for bisexual encounters in yo fantasy world so we put a bigot in yo Dragon Age so he can ruin everyone's fun.

That bridge is not made of wood, buts its catching fire and its raining?

It would be awesome if they somehow got Mike Mignola to do the art, check this out:

Bah all these comics are way too small for the iPod Touch screen. If only they made a bigger iPod Touch....nahhh that'd be stupid.

I keep forgetting that the whole point of Dragon Age was to have bisexual encounters with elves so that you could defeat the Archdemon with the power of some man-on-man lovin'. Well, I haven't actually finished Dragon Age yet, but that's what I assume happens after reading this thread. Otherwise all the Orson Scott Card hating would be irrelevant drivel, right?

While stopping by my local comic shop yesterday (mostly to pick up Blackest Night #8 and a few other good reads), I decided to flip through Dragon Age #1 and put it back on the shelf. I just wasn't terribly impressed with the art or story, plus I can't justify paying $3.99 for a title that isn't oversized.

I think I'll keep enjoying my DA adventures with a controller, thanks anyway IDW.
