Other improvements to the combat engine involve utilizing the cage in both offensive and defensive maneuvers. The submission system has also been improved, with a more dynamic camera that focuses on the limbs that are being worked on. It's meant to be more "visceral," a trait that's pretty important in a game all about dudes beating each other up. For UFC fans, we wonder if these improvements are worth another purchase this year?

It certainly looks to be worth a purchase. The 2009 game was an impressive base to start from and these additions are both needed and in some cases pleasant surprises.
I fully expect progress from this franchise for the first few years, its when the title is well established and ingrained in a yearly release that the changes might not be worth the reinvestment. This game still has plenty to work on, while providing an enjoyable experience.

Yeah a lot of good stuff in that video. 2009 was already the best MMA game ever, and this looks like it's going to be a big step up from that. I can't wait!

You must be the noob because it wasn't even the first UFC game ever.

Somethign seems off about the animation. Like it's not fluid enough; doesn't have enough weight behind the movements; or they're just moving too fast.
Not entirely sure what it is, but it just didn't seem right and kinda jerky.

It's not smooth enough, thats for sure. It still looks good enough but I agree that there is something off about it. Like there aren't enough frames there or something.

Definately worth purchasing. As a big UFC fan, and fan of the 2009, this game just got even more realistic. What I wonder is.. in the 2009 game it took like 40mins to complete all of the tutorials, how long will it take to complete 2010's tutorial? For the very advanced/experienced player, this game becomes a chess match when it comes to playing against experienced players on xbox live. I can't wait!

Hopefully they have fixed the mount exploit where the opponent holds transition block and throws random hammer fists. I hear the PS3 version has exclusive fighters Royce Gracie, Dan Severn and Jens Pulver. However, it seems that Junior Dos Santos is absent from the roster and if thats the case I won't buy the game at all.

Undisputed 2009 was not the only MMA game.

I guess. Pride FC and a host of UFC games were on the PS2.

I think the previous MMA game was back in 2004. Six years is a healthy amount of time for most people to have forgotten about it. Unless it's the development cycle for a Final Fantasy game...
