Joystiq, One of the best interview coverages you have done. Akira is amazing. Thanks for the great reading.

If the next Silent Hill game does not have Akira then I will not be playing it.

No Silent Hill Team, no Akira Yamaoka, there's just no way for the SH series to ever rise up again. Either the series stops here or it gets picked up by some other developer and changed entirely. I'm still waiting for that coin to land on its edge though.

I don't mind the absence of Team Silent so much anymore. I used to, but after playing Shattered Memories I changed my mind. I'd be fine with Silent Hill staying with its current developers, but Akira has to do the music.

I thought the removal of the combat system was a bad move seeing how running away from enemies can get really frustrating if you get cornered and the fact that you'll end up somewhere far off your destination. I see what they were trying to do, but I think it needs some more work.

I love Silent Hill, but I have a hard time caring when a new horror game is coming out with Mikami, Yamaoka, and Suda all on board. That's a winning cast right there.
