In a recent interview with G4TV, Harmonix's Chris Foster revealed that Green Day's dumbest album will be featured in its entirety in the band's upcoming dedicated rhythm game. Yes, Green Day: Rock Band will feature all 13 tracks from the rock outfit's 2004 album "American Idiot," which features the song "American Idiot," which starts, "Don't wanna be an American Idiot."
We know there are plenty of youngsters who prefer "American Idiot," but we'd much rather hear that all of "Dookie" or "Insomniac" would be included in the game. Or all of "Vox Humana." Which -- nope, wait. Yeah, that's Kenny Loggins. We mixed up Green Day and Kenny Loggins again.

I don't think anyone understood that you were referring to a Weird Al song-a-ling-a-ding-a-dong!

I agree. This should at least have the whole Dookie album.

Rumor has it that it'll all be there. Also the remaining tracks of 21st Century, Breakdown. Which doesn't leave around a lot of other tracks. I however suspect with Dookie you'll get a "Best of" then a be able to complete the album later through DLC similar to The Bealtes Rock Band. Shame it's only 47 tracks.

Really? Not their best album by a long shot. But I suspect that todays "kids", you know... the 16-22 year old crowd are huge fans of that album. Personally, this really kills a lot of Rockbands credibility for maintaining a quality standard. I mean come on, Rockband: Zeppelin? I am not sure how hard it would be to get them, but come on... they got the Beatles...

I want Rock Band: Led Zepplin sooooo bad...
I'd pay $100 for the game alone... Maybe I shouldn't give them ideas. Oh nvm, this is EA not Activision

So, your idea of quality is all that matters?
I love this album. I do fall within the demographic that you specified, but guess what? I also love all of their other albums (Except Shenanigans... Yeah...). It's extremely annoying to hear, "Ugh. This sucks! Why not get [insert favorite band]? They're MUCH better!"
If you don't like Green Day, fine, don't buy it. If you're like me, you can't wait for this.
American Idiot is one of their best albums. I'd say second, behind Dookie. It's also an album that runs through an entire story, so I think it makes sense to treat it as a single experience, rather than treating each song as its own entity.

I'd rather see Pink Floyd before Led Zeppelin (I want both, just want PF more), but I think both stand a slim chance of happening, which makes me a sad panda...

I'd kill Robert Plant. For someone who was in LedZep, he is a massive douchebag.
..... and then Led Band: Zeppelin Edition would come out \o/

I would like to see less of [Insert Band Name]:Rockband and more songs and albums for the more generic Rockband platform.
Maybe the [Insert Band Name] 'Experience' could also just be offered as a DLC side story to the actual platform itself so we don't end up with songs tied to a specific edition of the game.
But that's just me.

Zeppelin rarely even lets their music be licensed for movies. I'm sure it would be hard to even get them to agree to a video game, and then it would be CRAZY expensive. And honestly, as awesome as they are, they are an old, niche band. I don't know if RB would make their money back now that the music game craze has died down.

Well, that's good to know. The songs on American Idiot were either hit or miss. I'd reallly like to see tons of older stuff, like Dookie in its entirety, and a lot of songs from all of their older albums like 1039/smoothed Out Slappy Hours, Insomniac, and Nimrod.

American Idiot didn't have a bad song on it. Some were mediocre or overplayed, but overall the album was outstanding. Getting mad because they didn't do Dookie 2 is just pathetic. If they did the same thing over again, you'd say it all sounds the same. Some people just aren't happy unless they're unhappy

AI is the kind of album that should exist in a rhythm game in its entirety though, because it's a concept album. And it's hardly their "dumbest" album. I would easily call it my favorite. But hey, it's cool, who cares if you insult your members' opinions, right Joystiq?

Regardless of whether it's a joke or not, they still went out of their way to express how much they didn't like it.

All of Dookie? Sold!
Dookie was the very first cassette I ever owned and I listened to it front-to-back hundreds of times. Easily one of favorite albums by any band ever.

I couldn't care less myself. Never been a huge fan of Greenday. I soiled myself when Guitar Hero Metallica was announced, but i cant see any other GH game making me soil myself as hard unless it was a Pantera/Disturbed/Joe Satriani triplet. Or heck, just Disturbed.

i'm pretty sure that they have said that the most iconic albums will be on the game in their entirety. So, if that's the case, Dookie will be on their too. Although, I would like to see most of Insomniac and Warning on the game as well. I'm fine with all of American Idiot being on the game...it will be fun as hell to drum to. No matter what though, I'll still buy the game.

The entire Dookie album has been confirmed to be in the game. I don't know why Joystiq left it out of the post.
