I agree. I can't wait until this game is released. I'm hoping they make an announcement for the 360 sometime soon. If it's released at a later date that the PS3 and PC that's fine too...but I'd rather not have to buy a PS3 or upgrade my PC if I don't have to.

However if I end up having to I will.

BioWare said they are not planning a 360 version. But like anything else in the industry, that could change.

Same damn races as FFXI. Just different (crappier) names that don't role off the tongue as easy as FFXI's names.

No male Mithras, no female Galkas. Same shit.

One is a JRPG.
One is an MMO, and the long awaited replacement for FFXI.

Besides, YOU of all people have no room to talk regarding 'excessive sequels'.

Plus, XIV isn't a sequel. We've only had one real Final Fantasy sequel, and it didn't turn out for the best.

i'll wait for the next proper Final Fantasy game, thankyouverymuch. this mmo crap needs to go the way of Barthandalus and just die already. And no, I don't care how his name is SUPPOSED to be spelled.

With this re-imagining though, I'd hope they'd shake up the status quo. These aren't your old Galka, these are the Roegadyn, give them some damn females as playable characters! These aren't your old Mithra, these are the Miqo'te, give them more males, shake up their lore to differ from the Mithra's so that the males are much more common and thus playable! Maybe even add a new playable race/species to the mix just for the hell of it, to prove this isn't quite FFXI-2! *crosses fingers for an FFXIV equivalent of the Yagudo, because bird men are hellacool*

Good call on not having Viera, although I guess the Migo'te are a substitute for the furries.

FF13.
It turned out for the ok-it's a pretty decent game-but not the second coming of Jesus FF game-we've come to expect. I enjoyed it. I think it gets a bad rap since it's popular like Avatar and people tend to be more critical to things that are popular.

oh, you were talking about X-2...(I sure need to learn to read).

Ok, yeah, the plot and characters were pretty lame in X-2, but the gameplay was the best in the series I thought.

Do you have secret closed beta access to FFXIV where you know exactly what all the quests and the leveling system is like? Because otherwise I'd say you're making a very ignorant statement. This isn't FFXI, it's FFXIV. Though the races may look the same, the gameplay is very different. The classes are set up completely differently, with a new way of leveling. FFXIV even has dedicated crafting classes, something we haven't seen in a mainstream MMO since SWG.

It's 2010, we still have people hating FFXI and FFXIV because they're MMOs? Did everyone forget we live in the world of World of Warcraft, the most popular MMO out there that everyone has either played or met someone who has? I'm sure when WoW was announced it had some fanboys crying that they wanted a Warcraft 4 and not this MMO crap, but they've been proven oh so wrong. MMOs are cool now, it's okay to be excited about them being based on pre-existing franchises, even ones as loosely framed as Final Fantasy. We won't fault you for looking past the monthly fee and seeing the potential of an awesome open world adventure where you can roleplay as something/someone unlike who you are in real life. Give it a taste, we won't bite.

The thing about WoW is that it DOESN'T call itself Warcraft 4.

If Starcraft II was actually an MMO (World of Starcraft?) then there would be riots. Guaranteed, especially in Korea.

But WoW is a sequel to Warcraft 3. "Star Wars: The Old Republic" is called TOR, not KotOR3, but you still have people bitching to high heaven about wanting KotOR3. It may not apply to WoW in direct name, but people are doing it to KotOR. Just due to the rule of probability, there HAD to be some people who heard about the announcement of WoW and said "boo, I wanted Warcraft 4!".
