Create a Transformer in War for Cybertron's multiplayer

Since Transformers: War for Cybertron takes place before the robots made it to Earth, they all look like weird alien robots in this game instead of weird alien robots that are half truck. That freedom from real-world machinery means leeway in character design, which then translates to character customization.

What we're saying is that you can make your own Transformer in this game.

In this trailer, see the four different classes available in War for Cybertron's multiplayer mode. Even though the "turning into fighter jets" bit is out in favor of turning into space tanks and other fictional vehicles, the other main linchpin of the Transformers franchise is fully intact: robots fighting constantly.

Transformers: War for Cybertron meets the eye (and the shelf) June 22.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I am to after seeing this. Curious as to who in depth the customization is. Man now I'm having a small itch for a Transformers MMO haha.. (feel free to steal this idea lol)

sadly, we all know that this feature will be abused and we will be subjected to hoards of Dildotron robots.

lol as cool as this is, im still gonna use shockwave.

Hopefully has more customisation than that... and maybe a gamemode that lets us play as trypticon...

Few things I noticed:
1.) Pretty shiny graphics
2.) classes (medic, spy, you know the post TF2 deal)
3.) Killstreaks? Are we gonna have some Tactical nukes in space?

I think that what Jtenma is trying to get at is: when you list several features and then say it "looks good THOUGH," (emphasis mine) it makes it look like you're saying that the game "looks good, in spite of the mentioned features." Your wording was just a bit unclear, is all.

(And while I'm at it, I think you mean it "piqued" your interest. Unless you know that your interest is about to go down, in which case I'm miserably wrong.)

I'm not being sassy or sarcastic or anything here, just trying to help clear this up.

Every time I see this game, I can't help but feel this is the Arkham Asylum of 2010...

The fact that they no longer transform into normal vehicles seems to remove the original awesome factor Transformers had, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in this.

You have to remember though, in the first episode of the series Gen1, the transformers didn't have earth vehicles to transform into. They were Cybertroni(an) or (um). i'm probably wrong.

You're absolutely right Wheeljack and BumbleBee were the first transformers you ever see in old G1 eps and they were hovercrafts. Even the comics (which I'm not too fond of) display plenty of Cybertronian vehicle forms. The important fact is that they represent a pre human contact storyline in an intelligent way that doesnt focus on the parts of the franchise that people find divisive. and do it with gameplay that's smooth and fun.

This game should not be associated with the terrible movies in any way, lest all our expectations drop dramatically.

I think it's safe to say people would pay good money to just have a game where you could go all out and make your own transformer on the level of Champions Online. There wouldn't even be a game, that would be it. Maybe a show room and arena, but most of the budget going to "create-a-character" mode.

Looks good but part of me wishes it was set on Earth rather than Tim-Burton-esque Cybertron.

Was I the only one who went to Transformers not expecting anything other than giant robots hitting each other?

Can I just be Optimus Prime and be done with it?

Why doesn't this look like crap? I was all set to hate it, and then my expectations met reality in a fiery explosion.

Looks pretty damn good, as far as trailers go.

Oh I wish that we can make our own combiners. That would be truly awesome. Will they even have combiners in the game? Considering this is supposed to be pre-G1, probably not.

Did anyone else get an "Inspired by Warhawk" feeling when watching this? I have a sneaking suspicion that this game will be quite serviceable, and possibly even great.

I did think of Warhawk, but mainly Unreal Tournament 3 came to mind.

I really do hope it plays like Warhawk. Warhawk with perks is a dream come true.
