People are always saying, "Joystiq, you do so much for me, how can I give back to you?" It's a fine question, and one that we finally have an answer to: You can go and pre-order one of these amazing minimalist video game posters by our friend, Justin Russo.

Do we ask this because Justin was on an episode of the Joystiq Podcast once? No, we're far too self-centered to actually help another human. No, we just want him to reach his goal so he'll have enough funding to get the things made and shipped to our home base. Seriously, look at them! How do you not want one?

These posters make my nether parts tingle! I will be getting the big daddy one at the very least after my next pay.

I can see these as city wide banners/adverts for a local art museum's "pop cultural" art festival day.

Like when Yoshitaka Amano had his art exhibit up in New York, some time ago.

If I spend any more money on posters this year, multiple people will be angry with me. I have a habit of buying 20-30 dollar posters and then spending 60+ to frame them. Not to mention that no one is particularly happy about all the holes I put in the wall....

The last straw was when I hung a 27x40 Dark Knight poster. The frame was so heavy that it required a whole assload of screws. I had just hung an enormous Chuck (the TV show) poster, and I really got my ass chewed out.

Parents were pissed about the holes. GF was pissed that I spent what little disposable income I have (mostly from shoveling snow and mowing the lawn) on something other than her.

I can't win. I could move into a dorm, but I'm pretty sure you can't hang posters into the concrete bricks most dorm walls tend to be made of.

Or I could get a job......

In my dorm i just hang posters up with tape.....I guess thats to easy though?

Nah dude! Dorms make any screw holes you want then at the end of the semester, fill the holes with a like colored toothpaste (the college kid's spackle).

I can't bring myself to hang unframed posters. Something is just...missing.

$25 seems pretty pricey for a poster... this guy's gonna have a lucrative business, seems like, considering how many people seem interested. I don't get it.

Hmmm.. interesting.. I wonder if I can do the same.. and make some gaming related stuff to sell.. but like most ppl, im too lazy to be bothered..

However, I'v been plannin on recording a 'free to download' concept progressive-metal album based on Bioshock and the themes it represented.. Tho I'm not much of a musician.. :D

lol these posters are so minimalist, I feel like I could just make them myself. Especially that Mario one... I mean, dang.. Granted, I may not have his sense of style, so I couldn't come up with this stuff on my own....but...I can kinda see them now. They wouldn't be hard to reproduce for my own personal enjoyment.

Again, especially the mario one. I could do that one from memory. In fact, I already made 100,000 mario posters and sold them to japanese customers...in my mind.

Hmmm, 35 dollars to ship to the UK. Thats about 23 quid which isn't too bad but no doubt get hit with import duty so that sucks.

£30 for a poster is just too much,

I chose the $125 package, I honestly considered the $200 package even though I know i'll never be in Chicago, however I would like to see these printed! Spread the word about these :D

I just pre-ordered so he will hopefully be able to make the Ezio one at a later date, it's easily my favorite out of the bunch.

Looks like he took the same style as the covers to the Nintendo of Japan's Soundtrack collections, Nintendo Sound Selection.

While I can appreciate the simplicity, and the allusion to the actual media being represented, this just isn't for me. I'm more gravitated to detailed pictures and portraits, especially when it comes to video games. But to each his/her own.

I agree. Def kudos to the artist for the good ideas tho.

I also concur. I do purchase art, but would never consider something such as this.

I have been looking at the link all day savoring in the goodness of it all. Yes i want, can i justify. Maybe.

Alright, quick question, what Chuck poster did you get that was so large? I've looked around for a large version of the of the Comic Con poster that they made last year, but the only size I can find is 11x17.

What'd you get?

the design of some of these posters is excellent, but i'm really put off by the quotes on each one. i just really don't want to decorate my apartment with quote-laden posters. if they didn't have the quotes, i'd buy 5 of these in a heartbeat.

....just realized that only 3 of them are for sale.

Adding a quote is just as much an artistic choice as not adding a quote. The artists intent is all the matters.

i'm not saying that he should go so far as to change his work, i'm just laying out what would persuade me to purchase it. we're in agreement that art should be made according to what the artist wants it to be, but i'm also entitled to my opinion of it (and any decision to buy it).

Threw in $25 for the Bioshock one, these are awesome!

I'm really wondering about that too. Seeing as the characters aren't his, and neither is the overall concept (Nintendo Sound Selection CD's) and yet he's getting money off of this.

Just put down my $50. I'll be getting the Big Daddy and Mario. Surprisingly the wife was totally down with them and pretty much insisted we get them.
