Rock Band Weekly: Serj Tankian, Smash Mouth, The Used

Serj Tankian or The Used should probably be our focus for next week's Rock Band DLC -- however, we can't get Smash Mouth's "All Star," also available next week, out of our heads. That song is the musical equivalent of one of those brain beetles from Wrath of Khan. Get it out, get it out, get it out! Ahhhhhh!

Another slow week. Guess after the awesomeness of hendrix, HMX needs to cool down before the next big DLC announcement.

Still, All star will be a guilty pleasure.

I would take the whole Fush-Yu-Mang album over All Star, but All Star is better than nothing.

All Star has been available on Lips for quite a while. Yes, I know that's only singing, but with that song, that's all I'm really interested in.

So, how's it feel to be an old man remembering back when things were great when you were a kid, unlike these damn kids now-a-days with their hipster hops musics and their auto tunings? And have you reminded them to get off your lawn today?

Serj is pretty good, but these RB releases are getting a little shabby. Back when Otis Redding came out I jumped for joy. Now I am simply just holding onto more MS points.

I am not specifically referring to otis' time slot of release. I am talking of how we get good packs, then a bunch of crappy ones, until over a month later we finally get something else decent. So simmer down now.

Poor choice of The Used songs. "Bird and the Worm" please.

I would have rather had Buried Myself Alive, Box Full of Sharp Objects, and Blue and Yellow but whatever.

i'd rather hear generic-emo-song-three, it's all about really deep things like being lonely because of vague situations that allow a shallow target audience to connect with the lyrics. OMG ITS SO DEEP - "IL BE JUST FINE PRETENDING IM" - THE USED ARE SOOO GOOD.

Apparently the Serj Tankian songs are the Elect the Dead Symphony versions.

While I love the symphony versions, as a drummer this just plain sucks. Here's hoping the rest of the actual album comes to the platform, either through official DLC or RBN.

"A Taste of Ink" and "All Star" are probably buys for me, though I would have preferred "Buried Myself Alive" and "Walkin' on the Sun."

Maybe you guys should do a little update of what's new on RBN. I know you can't get everything, but maybe a highlight or something...

You truly do not know shit about music. Pop music has always existed. Grunge if anything is directly responsible for the death of alternative music (not to mention the genre itself sucked anyway.)

dude I completely agree. i actually liked their first record but they became more approachable and easy listening. they werent heavy to start with but they were cool. they did follow the mainstream straight down the river styx.

I have to slightly agree with Sonos (downranks ahoy!)...their first cd was the best one (and would be the most fun to play in rock band to me) but they were never grunge. Fush Yu Mang was Ska-Punk and then everything after that was straight up pop. The second cd was a good pop album but everything after that was s***.

can I buy it on beatles rock band?
