The concept of shooting allies to heal them is just priceless. Now THAT's friendly fire!

Nice, never knew that. Never see that much online though (Though my Siren's phasewalk can heal me up quite nicely anyways.)

Yeah i heard it was quite a nasty e-mail from Nintendo to High Voltage demanding they either remove the "THE" from the start, or Mr Ford will be cut from the lineup of character on the 3DS version of Smash Bros.

I think Blight it's due to the small screens and the nature of which Smash Bros zooms so far away from the action when people are spread apart on a big map. On a screen that small, you'd barely see yourself, nevermind other players.

So your saying any Troll can put an apostrophe in his name, and troll away without people telling him, causing a collapse in the space time continuum?

How can you possible say "Oh they are Perfect Dark or Halo 2 screenshots when both those games are on different generations of consoles?

Thats like see Zelda Twilight Princess and saying "Wow, when i saw that i thought it must have been a screenshot for Ocarina of Time or A Link To The Past"

Why can't you be spoilt for graphics and enjoy this?

Yesterday i played Left 4 Dead, Ocarina of Time, Timeshift, Crysis: Warhead, Plants vs Zombies and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 in 1 day. Didn't even raise an eyebrow when i went from new HD games to older games and back again.

because the conduit was only hyped because it had relatively good graphics for the wii. it was average or below average in its other aspects. when the graphics are the defining feature, and they're ass ugly, then there's a major problem.

Wii games almost never look good in still screenshots. Even Metroid Prime 3 looked pretty jaggy in screenshots. It's highly likely the game will look much better when it's actually running.

@Sly, I don't think the point he was making was so much against the criticism as the way in which the criticism was conducted. You might be justified in making a comparison to one or the other, but not both. To use the second example, you CAN say "TP looked like OoT" or, significantly more ridiculous, but still, "TP looked like ALttP," but since OoT obviously didn't look like ALttP, you CAN'T say "TP looked like OoT or ALttP", because the sentence is so unspecific as to be useless.

Eh, i'm none too keen on the idea of perks or customizable classes, but the rest of the ideas sound pretty good.

As long as i don't have to do too much in the way of teamwork, this game is sounding great.

Why no teamwork? I mean, I think you'll still be able to find matches with crazy-ass butchery, but you wouldn't want to experience some layered tactics every once in a while? I doubt we'll be forced into an "always-play-your-class" gameplay style (at least I really hope so...), so I think the class- and perk-minded bits of multiplayer would only support individual player choices or moods. Well, again: at least I really hope so.

it's the textures that bother me. and i doubt being in motion would fix that. still, it is pretty early, so i'll save the rest of my criticisms for after release.

I feel bad never buying the first because of that whole casual vs hardcore marketing and why they don't make hardcore games on the Wii, but I seriously heard that the first one was pretty bad. And for $50 bucks to boot. I would give it a try for 20 or something, but it seemed like a new game with mechanics from 10 years ago.

Early build, too. Remember that a similar thing happened with the original Conduit, and with a lot of games in general.

Plus that was 4-player simultaneous in an early build

Even in the final build, I'm willing to bet that there will be some huge sacrifices made in terms of textures, etc. to keep the framerate and overall speed high enough for people to play in splitscreen, or even online. Remember the character shadows in multiplayer?

That said, I could care less! I'd rather have good gameplay over graphics, and if they've tweaked the engine since the first game, I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised with the visuals.

I'm no graphics whore, but they really should get a better team to work on the environment art. Some of the walls are really too blah. I know the way the walls look won't affect the core gameplay, but would a little bit of occlusion mapping hurt? They seemed to have spent more time on shiny weapons and armor. I might still pick this up because I got the first one. I'm more looking forward to The Grinder than this to be honest.
