For the dozens of you interested in the NCAA Football franchise returning to PSP in 2010, today's news of the 2011 iteration of the game not heading to Sony's handheld is likely a pretty major bummer. On one hand, you were probably expecting it when yesterday's announcement of Tim Tebow as the cover athlete didn't include the PSP on its list of consoles (also absent was the Nintendo Wii), but on the other hand, there's been a PSP release for the last two years. IGN confirmed the lack of a PSP version release with EA, who subsequently confirmed an iPhone App Store release. So there's something, right? Right?
Hey guys, where are you going?

Wow. I love my PSP, but this sounds like the start of something very bad. And, an Iphone release to boot. Sony, something's gotta be done.

Start? You haven't been paying much attention to the PSP release list. Save for some anticipated Japanese titles, that list is bare.

Sony is Good....there have been TONS of games came out in the last year....and thanks to Peace Walker, ModNation Racers, and most likely a new God of War PSP game, the PSP isnt going anywhere.....EA just doesnt make enough money off of NCAA on PSP to justify making it

It honestly looks like the PSP or any portable gaming device is that isn't also a phone is just not a real contender in the market. Now that cell phones can do so much, the idea of carrying more than one device seems like punishment. The DS is an obvious exception because of it's broad fan base and low price point. Plus, kids have backpacks and women have purses, so carrying extra stuff is easier. Engage came to market before the technology was good, but it was a good idea: a phone for all media with an extra focus on gaming. The iPhone is the closest right now, but it still has some very real limitations for gamers. The technology Microsoft showed off last month looked very promising, but I like the idea of PSPhone. My PS3 is the most used media device in my home. I stream video to it and I watch all of my movies on it. I love it.
In my opinion, the first company to make an iPhone-caliber phone that has PSP graphics and a clever interface will be the winner.

The PSP phone is coming, have no fear!
But this is a college football game... who actually cares about it not making the list? Peace Walker is hitting the shelves pretty soon and I will take one Metal Gear Solid game over 1,000 college football games any day.

PSP has sold 50m+ units. It has the second largest installed base of any other console game system and updated hardware (hopefully backward compatible if Sony is smart) is expected to be announced within a year. Reports of the PSP's death are greatly exaggerated.
Sony plays the long term game and has deep pockets and many studios. PSP is NOT going to "die" anytime soon, Sony can keep it going for an arbitrary length of time.

Oh yeah, I'm sure EA will miss the hit to their bank account from returned copies of PSP NCAA games. (hint: they aren't missing out on much)
I don't know how many times I gotta say this. I love my PSP, but I don't want to play ports of console games and I don't want a 2nd thumbstick. Just make good (original) games please.

How can Dr. Blight be a planeteer if he's (or she according to my memory) supposed to be a villain?

It's starting to pick up, if you ask me! Remember holiday 2008? Not a single game was released for the PSP in the US. I would have bet money they were calling it quits. Now we've got metal gear, valkyria, a new resident evil was announced, fat princess, modnation, even the PSP version of prince of persia looks like it could be good (it's a sidescroller), kingdom hearts, a new MH...I'm stoked!

Peace Walker is one game I don't care about. Sorry. Not a MGS fan. Modnation on the other hand looks good.

People that say there aren't any good games coming out for the PSP aren't following the platform. 2009 may have been the best year the system ever had: LBP, GT, GTA: Chinatown, Motorstorm, Resistance Retribution FF: Dissidia, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, etc. This year we've already had SOCOM FTB3 and Dante's Inferno (the PSP version of this game KICKED A**), and we have Peace Walker, a new Prince of Persia, and MODNATION RACERS in the first half of the year!.
The guys saying there are no games are speaking our of ignorance. It'd be like me saying there are no good games coming out for the wii. I own one but I never use it so I really have no idea what's going on with it.
