Makes me want to play Rainbow Six 3 for the last time. Everyone praised Rainbow Six Vegas but it just didn't feel as perfect as Rainbow Six 3 was. Plus I really don't like 3rd person cover in a game like RS because it promotes too much camping. It still was an great game; just not as amazing as Rainbow Six 3.

If only you could set up dedicated servers like on other platforms, so these games could be kept playing online. Damn shame.

Unless you knew that and are just stating your relief.

They need to make it awesome. Not some lame "you've been disconnected" message, but an awesome event. Like your game pauses and then a frightening beast, like Satan or Richard Simmons, tears up the screen.

what? why? You can still play the games singleplayer or splitscreen! They kept the servers up for 5 years! 5 YEARS! That's not long enough to get used to new better games? Maybe if you couldnt play these games at all there'd be a reason to be afraid, but for ffs dont make it like Xbox 720 wont have backwards compat

please don't start BC complaining now. we'll get enough of it when sony promises the ps4 will do everything and microsoft says the next xbox will emulate previous xbox games. then we'll be left with a ps4 that has no back compat and an xbox that'll still allow you to play older games albeit, not online.

conclusion: BC is something no one cares about after the first year of the succeeding generation.

"If it's any consolation, remember that the reason for the shutdown is that older hardware on the service is keeping Microsoft from being able to update things like the friends list limit, so in this case, change should bring some welcome progress."

I fail to see how a 100-friend increase is "progress" (who even has 200 friends who all play Xbox Live?), and it's kinda odd that the friends increase is the ONLY reason for this server shutdown, because they aren't even hinting at anything else.

a TON of people would like a friends list increase, and that's from my experience on PS3 which has the same limit. on the 360, i bet the feeling is even stronger.

I have 97 friends so far, and I know a bit about everyone single one of them, I love to have a varies of friends from different countries, and time zones... it makes me more tolerant of others, you should try it sometime

also Clans are something people want, but they cant add because of XBLV1, They want to add more but they cant because XBL was built into each and every game on the original xbox, and If you changed that on the XBLv2 then it would crash all the original games... now whats better, being able to play the games on single player still, or NOT AT ALL think about that

Over the course of 5+ years playing Xbox Live, I can say I would like to add more friends, I have about 90 right now. I have either known these players in real life, friends of friends, friends of my brothers, old school mates, cousins, friends of cousins... it goes on. Every time I go to "clean up" my friends list, I can't because I realize I either know this person in real life, or have been playing with that gamer for YEARS.

Oh, and where exactly does it say that increasing the friends list is the ONLY reason they are doing this? Are you out of your mind man? Yes, the friends list has been the only hot topic but c'mon, be realistic. There will be other improvements/changes/features.

Hmm, didn't realize Microsoft would pull a Sony with the abuse of their rights of taking away selling points for their products AFTER said products were bought. Then again, I have no idea why I figured they wouldn't. Guess I might as well set up the Netplay on my PC version of #Reload then. Thanks for the answer.
