Readers pick best webcomic: The Pokemon Effect

Sometimes, a gaming webcomic can identify one of life's universal, unspoken truths, giving the reader pause to reflect on how the trajectory of his or her life has been so clearly recreated by an unknown illustrator. We imagine many of you experienced this same sensation when reading Awkward Zombie's Wrapup-winning strip "The Pokémon Effect" last week. You've really got our number, Awkward Zombie.

Second and third place went to Virtual Shackles' "Phenomenal Cosmic Power" and Penny Arcade's "Friends, Romans, Countrymen," respectively. Also, as mentioned in the Pokemon B/W post and this, the real reason everyone hated Gen-3 was because no one wanted to play with them anymore.

I was hoping that Pikachu would become a member of Commander Shephard's team.

I like his style, though some of the comics are hit and miss.

Oddly, Awkward Zombie is done by a guildy of mine in WoW. She never even realized her comics had been chosen and posted on this site. Maybe she's watching the site now that this is the second one chosen for the weekly roundup.

If I'm correct...Mr. Angry is supposed to be her representation of her boyfriend.
