Who knows where ex-University of Florida QB Tim Tebow will end up in the upcoming NFL draft, but one thing's for certain: he's landed himself on the cover of NCAA Football 11. The celebrated quarterback ends his collegiate career with one last highlight before going pro -- an honor bestowed on just 18 others in the history of the series.
Tebow is known for his decorated college football career, having won the Heisman Trophy is 2007 as a sophomore (the first to do so) and the Davey O'Brien award in the same year for being "the nation's best quarterback." But did you know that he was born in the Philippines? Bet you didn't know that! How about the fact that he spent his final three summers as a high school student in his country of birth helping his father with missionary work? Also true! And now, well now he's on the cover of NCAA Football 11.

I hope this is not a sign he'll grace the cover of a future Madden game.

Has that ever happened? Somebody appearing on the cover two different game series by the SAME publisher? The last person i can think of doing so by different publishers is Kobe Bryant.

You guys are dumb, Who cares if he cried at the SEC game or w/e. It was an emotional time for him, since it was his last year with the Gators. Congratulation to Tim Tebow on getting in NCAA Football 11 cover. I bleed orange and blue! Gators All Day!

I guess you don't remember what happened in 2008? Funny how you creightons from Tuscaloosa easily forget. Let's restate a fact. He is the greatest college football player in history....period.
I go to the University of Florida where I've had classes with Timmy in the College of Ag and Life Sciences, he's a great guy and a good role model. I don't know why you people talk so much trash.

Calm down buddy. I never said he wasn't a good guy. Quite the opposite, I think he's a great role model for the most part.
And I do remember 2008.. all too well. That's what makes 2009 so sweet.
As for the trash talking, Florida and its fans haven't once trash talked anyone during it's two National Championships with Urban Meyer ... or during Spurrier's tenure? It goes both ways Gator fan, Florida just happens to be on the receiving end of it this time. It's sports... don't take it personally.

DT's aren't exciting players for the average joe. The average joe doesn't understand what DT's do or what DE's do. They just watch the game hope they sack the QB. That's why with NFL cards, your QB's, RB's & WR's sell the best because most people hear of them because they score Touchdowns. If you look at the pattern since NCAA 2000, it was Ricky Williams - Tim Tebow. There hasn't been 1 Defender on a NCAA cover since 1999 (Charles Woodson) whom was an exciting player maker. All of the NCAA games since 1998 have been Qb's, RB's & WR's.

I'm proud of you Tim, I never would have thought you would have been considered one of the greatest college football players and on a cover of a game I've been playing since I was a child. I wish you well in college and exceeded my and our teams expectations. I know you better then most people because I watched you grow. I watched you take over a 2-8 high school football team to a state championship and was dedicated in getting us there. I watched you go onto college when everyone doubted you saying " You won't be able to truck college LB's & SS's " and you ran 20 TD's in 1 season as a QB.
I still can't believe you're on the cover of the NCAA 11.

This is actually pretty mild for a Bama fan.
I've been to games at all the SEC schools. Most schools just talk trash about football, all in good fun (going to LSU is awesome in particular). Bama fans talk trash about cutting your mother into little pieces and eating her for dinner. It's pretty messed up.

Except that's totally incorrect.
The incident you're referring to is that he tried to get everyone to pray before taking the wonderlic test at the NFL combine and they refused. It had nothing to do with his teammates.

lol, that stat doesn't mean anything. The single season record is held by Colt Brennan and the freshman stat is held by Michael Vick. Neither of those two are exactly amazing quarterbacks either.

While you can name all the other people who think they should get rich just for signing their names you want, but all you're doing is naming other tooly deutsch bags.

No offense, but you're being a moron. The only time Tebow ever charged money for an autograph was when he was doing it for a charity.

Yes, I would say not being able to get a bunch of random people he had never met with him before to follow him is pretty different than not being able to get his teammates to follow him.
But then again, why bother try explaining anything to you. Clearly you can't even read a simple news story and interpret it properly.

I am not a Gator fan, nor am I much of a college football fan, but I am a huge Tim Tebow fan. Yes, part of that is his pro-life stance, which I agree with, but the biggest reason is that he heard about my baby niece who had been diagnosed with a brain tumor at 5-1/2 months old and went to visit her in the hospital. Since that day he has not only visited again, but he has worn a silver bracelet in my niece's honor among several others that he is always wearing. He didn't have to do any of that. You can hate on him all that you want, but I will not. This man has more character than most people I see posting comments (and judgments) around here.
Oh, and for those few of you that want to know, my niece is now a year old, out of chemo, and CANCER FREE! No, I don't credit Tim Tebow for that. I credit the God that Tim and I both believe in.

He seems like a decent enough human, not just a iconic football player to people other than Florida fans. Of course, the covers are usually about appealing to fan bases rather than being deserved.

This doesn't make him any less of a super-douche on the field. At the 2008 FSU-UF game in Tallahassee, the Seminole D hit Percy Harvin hard and put him out for the game. The FSU fans applaud when the injured player gets up and walks off the field. It's a sign of courtesy and respect that they show to all players, regardless of what team they play for (even if its Miami and Florida). What did Tim Tebow do while the fans were cheering for Percy? He ran over to the sidelines and started shouting at them. I know because I was there watching him do it. Real class, that Tim Tebow. Real class.
All the best to you and your family though. It was a really stand-up thing of Tim to do off the field. He seems like a real wholesome guy all around. It's a shame he acts like such a turd when he puts a helmet on. It doesn't help that the media tried their hardest to fellate him for his entire college career. It also doesn't help that Florida fans are even worse going on and on about their great QB that was only a QB in name.
(P.S. Florida fans, I'm so glad the Gators choked on Bama and will never go Wire-to-Wire as the AP #1 for an entire season like the Seminoles did.)

passer rating is a pretty bogus stat. Just consider the quarterback that held the record prior to Tim, Ryan Dinwiddie from Boise State University. What kind of splash did he make in the NFL? That being said I know Timmy could play college qb, he beat my team 4 times in a row, but I do not want a game with him on my cover.

Florida fans had little to trash talk about back in the 1995 National Championship when Nebraska, Tommie Frazier, Ahman Green, and a whole slew of now NFL veterans thrashed them to the tune of 64-24.
Do I win? Go 'Skers.
Suh should have graced the cover of NCAA Football this year, tis a shame.

Tebow's a good football player and could be good in the NFL, but all that aside he shouldn't be on the cover of NCAA '11 because he won't be playing college football next year. They should've put someone on there that will actually be playing at the college level next year.
