She packed my bags last night pre-flight
Zero hour nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight

And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone

Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all this science I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man

And I think it's gonna be a long long time...

Is it sad that I played that song out, Jazz style in Stewie Griffin's voice?

Yay!!! I loved this game back in the days of my youth and judging from the screenshots and the write-up here it sounds like a great revival.

Now I just need to get my 360 fixed...it finally got around to giving me the RROD in over 2 years, how awesome. Regardless of a broken system, this is on my radar and could be a day-one purchase for me

Never played the originals, but i can tell from the videos that it's not some sloppy remake, like turtles in time was, for example. I'll keep a look out for this one. Nice to see it's coming to steam, as well.

while i have a pc controller, i'm still not a fan of a pc platformer..why no wii release? seems perfect to me

I might end up picking it up on steam, even though i'd much prefer wiiware

Poor guy, rejected by his country yet he is out to save it. Kind of feel bad for Sparkster. Go get 'em chap! Take out the bad guys once more.

"Blast possuming". Hah! Nice to see it's not just Atlus with a sense of tongue in cheek humour these days.

"Having played through the first couple of levels from this XBLA, PSN and Steam release, I can say that not a whole lot has changed from Sparkster's adventures of yore...."

that's pretty much all i needed to hear. the original RKA was such an under appreciated gem of a side scroller, that if this approaches even half of what that game was, it will still be a fantastic game.

"There must be something inherently difficult about capturing the feel of a 2D game using entirely polygons, since the number of remakes that have gotten it right far outnumber the successes."

Something is not right here...

This better include the classic 1-1 theme, or I will *kill* people.

DISCLAIMER: ACTUAL PEOPLE WILL NOT DIE, IT'S JUST A FIGURE OF SPEECH. MAYBE.

I loved playing Rocket Knight Adventures on the Genesis. I didn't find out about Sparkster until recently. I had no idea they made another 16 bit sequel so many years ago. Apparently, Sparkster is totally different games between the SNES and Genesis, even though the boxarts were the same. I can't wait for this game to come out! I will get this on day one!

I loved the original. i can barely remember it, but I do remember it being my last hoorah on the Genesis, before it was finally put in the attic for good.
