So when MS kills off Live support for Xbox games on Thursday, that gives me an excuse to pirate Windows 7?

Dr. 32X, you are the President of Coolsville.

I hate the excuses people make for piracy. Especially when it's "They removed an option that less than 1% off the userbase actually implements." So, you're essentially just crying for the sake of crying.

Isn't $50 for a handheld title a bit pricey for most?

For most, maybe, but some of us have spent $80+ on each of 3 PSP special edition titles, one being nearly $100.

Whoa, that means that the standard edition is $40? Is that the highest priced PSP game so far?

nada sir. Most PSP games (back when I bough them) launch at $40. I know for certain at least God of War: CoO, Crisis Core: FF7, and Dissidia Final Fantasy all were priced at $40 at release. PSP launch I got Lumines, Dynasty Warriors, and Ridge Racer for $40 each.

So no, it's quite common.

Most PSP games are released at $40, the reason I only just now purchased Persona PSP ($15 on Amazon, cool beans) and why I still haven't purchased Persona 3 PSP.

Most high-profile PSP games release at $40. Other titles (generally with less mindshare) release at $30, and budget titles release at $20 (or less if they're PS Store exclusive).

Not that your comment made sense before. You were attacking Bradwart for no reason whatsoever . . . because he made a comment against piracy. Keepin' it classy in good old Joystiq High.

"For ten bucks, we certainly hope it's one of the neatest artbooks we've ever seen."

Uh, have you never seen prices for art books before? I spent ~$50 recently on the Valkyria Chronicles art book. Granted, I was importing it, but its base price is still around 4000 yen. However, it's HUGE, has an overwhelming collection of concept/production art and informational text, and is printed on very sturdy paper. Incidentally, I note that it's $66 at Play-Asia.com, and that's before the shipping cost (which is quite high, due to the considerable weight).

Of course, art books bundled with games are nowhere near that epic in scope, but still. Unless it's a buck per page, I don't think $10 is exorbitant.

The BioShock 2 art book was pretty impressive, as well. Other than that, I haven't seen any others that are worthy. I need to check that VC one out though. That would be sweet.

I just got the premium edition of Lunar:Silver Star Harmony and as much as I'm happy with it it is hard for me to think about spending the extra money on a Collector Edition of another game. For MGS:PW it seems worthy, so I'll be debating this decision for a while. Another special edition I wanted to get is the one for the first Prinny game, I saw it on a store a few weeks ago and I'm still thinking on whether I should go back and get it or not. Interesting thing is, I've never been much for SE and now all of the sudden I feel like getting them.
