Batman: Arkham Asylum for $27 at Amazon

At this point, it should be pretty clear that God wants you to have Batman: Arkham Asylum. The game has frequently been subject to some killer deals and Amazon is adding another one to the pile today. At this very moment, the online retailer is offloading Xbox 360 and PS3 copies for the sanitarium-sent price of $26.99.

If you still don't have the game and refuse to buy it at that price, well, maybe you belong in Arkham with the Joker. Unless you're holding out for the Game of the Year Edition, in which case maybe you could be forgiven. Maybe.

Now there is no reason for anyone not to get this if you don't have it already.

I tried to convince a friend to buy the game when it was on sale before, or to at least try some kind of demo for it.

His reply was, "It's a Batman game... so eh."

I wanted to smack the silly out of him, but kinda hard to do that over the internet.

I will get the GOTY edition. It is not hard to not buy it right now. Get all that?

everyone should have been jumped on this, at this price you would be CRAZY not to!!

I just bought it from gamefly for $20. Used, of course.

I got it for $12.48 for the PC at Target.

Yeah, I hate good games too.

I'm waiting for the GOTY edition. But I can't wait much longer.

Which is the better version, Xbox 360 or PS3?

PS3. You get the Joker maps. Otherwise, there's been no real documented difference.

I think i pretty much passef on it since i have INfamous. Think ill still have to pass on it since REd dead redemption is about to drop lol

I almost bit on this price--I had a great time with the demo...but with the gf's b-day coming up and red dead redemption, I really should hold off. Especially since I'm not done with FFXIII yet.

If you live with her, you could always buy her Batman :P

So, what exactly does the GOTY version have that the normal PS3 version does not? There's a bunch of downloadable map packs on PSN, so which one isn't available except in GOTY?

Ok, looks like the two additional map maps are Crime Alley and the Nightmare Challenge map packs, in case anyone's curious.

I played and beat it on a three day rental, but I'll probably grab up the GOTY edition at some point. It was a very well done, probably one of the best superhero games out there.

Got 1000/1000 on a rental, but will pick up the GotYE anyways.

they are actually on clearance @ target for 12 dollars.

That might be a YMMV thing. The website still shows normal prices.

@syphilus, I forgot to add, only the PC version. 360's and ps3s are still up there.

I already got this on the Games For Windows Live sale for $13. With a wired 360 controller, there is literally no difference between mine and the 360 version(achievements, controls, and my computer is outputting audio/video to my TV). Oh, except maybe my PC makes it look a little better.

PC version is A LOT better, especially if you have a NVidia card with PhysX.

Or Nvidia's 3d setup. (I WANT!)

I need to find my wired controller then. PC version is on my desk waiting to be played, calling out to me every time I sit down.

to be fair, i got this when it was like 10 or 15 dollars too because of the steam sale.

it wasn't on my Radar, but now i know that the next one is a day one purchase.

Just gonna wait to grab the Game of the Year edition for 20 or less. I'm definitely interested in the game, but I try to only spend 20 or less on games unless I'm REALLY REALLY interested in them.

For those interested, it looks as if ONLY the 360 version is discounted at 27 bucks. I'm still seeing a price of 39.47 for the PS3 version. Now I have to decide if it's worth it to go for the discounted version if I miss out on the Joker bonus content...

groundflier, Amazon has a disclaimer at their today's deals page:

"Due to high demand for the PS3 game today, we are out of stock, but we still have the Xbox 360 edition available. "

Like I said, it was the Amazon Gold Box deal of the day. Too bad Joystiq forgot to mention it on their post (even though I did on the tip I sent earlier today).

You're more than welcome, Richard. But you forgot to mention that the deal is only valid for today (it is the Amazon Gold Box deal of the day, after all).

And by today, I mean the 13th, since it's not past midnight here in Colorado.
