Listen, foreigners: We're sorry, okay? America's avarice for sleek, ultra-hip gadgets has overwhelmed Apple, who sold over half a million iPads during its first week in the market. In response to this "unexpected" sales surge, and in anticipation of even higher demand for the tablet, Apple has delayed the international launch of the device from late April to the end of May.
Overseas readers will have to wait until May 10 before finding out exactly when the iPad will be available for purchase, and the price point at which it will be sold. Heck, by that time, the U.S. will have already moved on to the next big thing in mobile technology: The Tamagotchi. That's right. We're bringing it back.

You can slap a picture of a video game on the iPad, it still doesn't make any iPad news worthy of being on Joystiq. Hell, why don't you start making posts including updates on all cell phones also, because I heard there are video games on those also.....

@ Freedom Town:
In case you haven't noticed yet: the iPhone OS platforms (which include the iPad) have a market share in games that rivals the PSP's. Read it here on Joystiq: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/analyst-iphone-has-apple-taking-a-bite-out-of-ds-psp-software/
So, whether you like it or not: you either have to accept the iPhone/iPad as gaming platform or you have to decry the PSP's importance, too.

Is that ipadreturns site yours? Actually, probably not, your grammar is better.
Zero content (except a repost of apple's return policy) on the site, ads and a page offering the site for sale.
I love the "Please post “WHY” you are returning your ipad return."
The only comment is from someone called Admin saying "I have heard that the wi fi has issues."
Ominous indeed.

By that time there will be the new iPad version. And people will be pissed. And so on..

I don't get why people are still pissed at Apple for coming out with a new version of _______ every 12-18 months. It's not like they just started doing it, it's been their standard operating procedure for quite some time now. If it really irritates you, just don't buy their products.

I love how in both Engadget's and Joystiq's articles, 'international' is synonymous with 'overseas,' as if Canada (in which it's also been delayed) just doesn't exist.

I'm not from the U.S, but from my outside perspective, it seems like every American wishes that anyway.

overseas is technically inaccurate, but "international" obviously includes canada, so i wouldn't act like this article is completely shunning the existence of your country.

right, because the way to fight the stereotypes that americans have of others is to stereotype americans. seriously, "every American" wishes that other countries didn't exist? read that out loud to yourself, maybe you'll realize then how stupid of a statement that is. have you ever actually met anyone from the U.S.??

@David,
Don't mean to stereotype, as most of my family is from the states, and most of them are good people. However, on my most recent trip to LA, I met a girl who honestly thought that Canada was a subsidiary of the United States... I went to Six Flags and, when I mentioned I was from Canada, some dipshit decided he needed to explain to me exactly what is meant by 'tropical weather' and 'desert.'
No, I don't want to malign a country, but that doesn't mean I haven't been privy to the seemingly ingrained mindset that 'best in the US' is synonymous with 'best in the universe.'

Why is this on a gaming website exactly? Last time i checked the ipad was just an overgrown ipod touch
Posted: Apr 14th 2010 12:29PM (Unverified) said
A lot of things can play "games" , a lot of things aren't worthy enough to be on a gaming console website though. The article has nothing to do about games either, it has to do about the hardware. If you are going to post hardware news concerning the iPad, you might as well start posting PC news, cell phone news, board game news, hell a lot of those things have 'something' to do with games also..... :\

I am positively baffled at why anyone would consider buying the iPad.
And I am still committed to calling the first person I see with one in public a douche.

Wait until they rebrand the iPod Touch the iPad Mini and millions of people go out to buy it.
I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they hold it up to their iPod Touch/ iPhone and reality punches them in the face.

Huh, voted down because I mention a tablet computer is on a gamers website. Too bad its not going to have any decent games released for it. even if it did it is not going to have the greatest of battery life. Is joystiq going to start posting stuff about Alienware laptops as well? Since those are the same thing just bigger. Posts like this one need to be left on Engadget
