@Orion

I must have been confused as to why they wanted you to take a break every 20 minutes of playing with the Virtual Boy. Yes most products do have disclaimers but most are for existing conditions (i.e. epilepsy, not creating new ones.

The point is why take the chance? I want to be gaming for decades to come, if there is even a slight chance that moving my gaming rig over to 3D will mess up my eyesight that is something I don't want any part of.

They should have a disclaimer on my front door cuz man, walking outside in the bright light instantly can seriously strain your eyes and cause disorientation. Especially with all the three deeez out there that goes on forever. 3D's unnatural man, beware of that shit.

When I can wait a couple of years and buy a 3D set that most likely includes none of the health problems and does not require glasses the choice to wait is obvious.

The fourth dimension is time. You know, all that time it took for them to start making good games! HI-YO!

(But yeah not really.)

Sorry Sony, you took away OtherOS, I take away any chance you had of getting my hard earned income for any of your products.

Well... to be honest, I do like how 3D looks when it's done right (like Avatar)... but I don't mind using the glasses at the theather...

But it's a different story at home, specially because the current tech for 3D at home is using LCD Shutter Glasses, which costs $100+ and uses batteries. They could have at least used Polarized Glasses, which you can get for cents (the ones used in Real-3D films).

I think I will limit my 3D experiences with some movies at the theather and with the Nintendo 3DS...

Problem with polarized glasses is that the TV requires a filter over the image to polarize the image. This would mostly likely cause distorted images on the TV screen when not watching a 3D presentation. The active shutter method depends on the glasses to block out and let in the correct image instead of a polarizer over the screen so non-3D presentations will come out perfect and undistorted when not wearing glasses.

I played the 3D version of Wipeout in the showroom at the Sony building in Tokyo a couple of months ago. It was awesome. I really want a 3D TV now.

That's awesome! I have a 3D projector, but don't think it's going to be compatible with PS3's 3D. Works great on PC w/ 3D Vision though.

That 'logo' thing has the same color scheme as the Tron poster.

Do you really need a 3D TV to watch shit in 3D?? I mean, there've been 3D movies released before that worked on regular TVs. There's also the 3D in movies, which use the same screen and (I assume) the same projector as regular movies. So why the hell do I have to buy a TV to do something that I know my TV I own right now can already do?

You are assuming wrong...

When you watch a 3D film in the theather, they are using a special digital projector (no film) and a silver screen instead of a white one.

This ain't no red & blue glasses crap man... They are shutter glasses that sync with the display to give each eye an image in a slightly different angle in full color to produce a 3D image.

The 3D patches better be free for these games or it is going to be a total fail.

I think you've got a point.

At the least, they should be affordable DLC. I shouldn't have to rebuy the whole game, but I understand that I already got the game I paid for and they had to do some work and deserve some compensation.

$5 for Wipeout to be boosted to 3D, etc.

I think 3D movies and games are stupid.

They add very little to the experience and are not worth the hassle and the cost.

They are just a gimmick to get people into theaters and to get them to buy new TVs.

Kinda like higher resolution graphics, right? Or motion control?

It's not a huge enhancement. It's overhyped. But it's an enhancement. It does improve the immersion. It's pretty expensive to buy on day 1, so if you aren't going nuts, of course, wait.

But you're going to love this. I promise. If you had played GT5:P in 3D, you would know that this is going to be a huge hit. Sony's got something very special, if they manage to handle it correctly.

The idea of a high quality motion control with a high quality 3D experience is very exciting for me. Very immersive and worth a few thousand dollars and wearing dorky glasses and waving around a glowing ballstick.

I honestly don't think it improves the immersion that much, if at all. In fact, I think it can detract from it. Some people, including myself, sometimes get a diorama effect when watching 3D material. I can be watching a 3D movie and then suddenly I will feel like I'm watching miniatures... sort of like those old Japanese Godzilla movies where you can easily tell you're just looking at miniature figures. I think it's due to the way the 3D world collapses at the border of the screen. I don't see things this way the whole time, but it typically happens several times throughout a movie and it definitely distracting. Count yourself lucky if you haven't been hit with this feeling yet.

That said, I do think it will prove more enjoyable in gaming. I'd love to see SSHD in 3D. I just don't think it does much for actual immersion.

I have a 88" screen and a 3D projector w/ nVidia 3D Vision. Trust me when I say that is the most immersive way I've ever played a video game! :)

Pregnant women, drunk people and "those who are sleep deprived" should not watch 3-D television because of potential health issues, electronics manufacturer Samsung says on its Web site.

If I already bought SSHD how much will it cost to update for 3D capability? I'm still waiting on that expansion pack to become free.
