Works for me! As long as they keep Luigi in as a bonus, I'm happy.

Mass Effect's story is mediocre by comparison to this!

The first game wasn't to watch Stardust fall, it was to watch a centennial comet in the sky (known as the Star Festival). The stories may be similar, but that doesn't mean it's the same centennial event they're going to see.

And even if it was, it's still possible that SMG and SMG2 just take place that closely together that the event they were planning on watching in the first one hadn't yet ended by the time SMG2 starts.

Figuring out Zelda continuity is bad enough, and at least there are ways to make it work. How you can explain immortal Mushroom Kingdom characters though is beyond me.

I guess those mushrooms have a lot of preservatives..

Yeah, because the story of a kingdom of sentient mushrooms ruled by a surprisingly human-like ruler that is constantly terrorized and occupied by a giant turtle/dragon and his army of fire-breathing plants et al was just right there, literally teetering on the cusp of rational believability but factor in the apparent immortality of said kingdom's citizens and the heretofore plausible illusion is just irrevocably shattered.

Well when you're like me and like to use the movie as your continuity basis...

"kingdom of sentient mushrooms ruled by a surprisingly human-like ruler"

I've read somewhere that in the original instruction booklet it explains that Princess toadstool/peach is the highest form of mushroom (I guess Mario would be one too, since he was born in the mushroom kingdom).. the toadstools are the middle class and the Goombas are the lower class.

WERD!!

With Mario you eventually learn that the explanation for anything that happens in it is 'just cause' and accept it.

Mario is actually a Time Lord. It all makes sense now.

Oh, MAN... if Nintendo and the BBC teamed up for a mega-awesome super-tie-in involving Mario and Doctor Who, I think I would shit myself.

"Hopefully it will amount to more than just collecting Star Bits this time around."

You could also shoot star bits and make Mario jump by clicking him. I loved turning co-op into competitive gameplay. Needless to say, the first player was not as amused...

Its heavily implied that a giant reset button is pressed at the very end of Galaxy 1. So while this is the sequel it could be taking place in the same time frame.

except you know, a comet in the first game isn't stardust in the second game. Two similar, but completely different Centennial events. If it was the same exact event, then theory could be that the Star Festival was still going on (meaning that Galaxy 2 takes place immediately after Galaxy 1) but since the story says Mario was invited to watch Centennial Stardust fall, it's most likely just a different event.

Or like he said the reset button was pushed except what was a comet before got shattered and is now just stardust.

Ive always wanted a Mario game with Wart vs Bowser and the Mushroom Kingdom getting caught in the middle. You could have levels in both places SubCom and Mushroom Kingdom/Bowsers Castle.

Chico is the Japanese translation for Luma, in the Original SMG soundtrack, the Luma's theme was titled "Chico".

Nothing new here, folks.

It's a typo, it's supposed to be baby chick.
Which is redundant because all chicks are babys.
