It's so inconvenient to deal with pre-orders at Best Buy that I never bother.

No, it doesn't, not even close.

At GameStop they have a record of every game I've pre-ordered and I can ask for my money back, it's in their system.

At Best Buy, lose your receipt, and you lose your money. They have no record of what you pre-ordered. Best Buy is far worse than GameStop, and that's saying something.

Amazon is the place to go.

Best Buy can pull receipts from previous sales. Best Buy always has pre-orders in stock when my Gamestops run out. Plus I am not hassled to pre-order other things and get magazine subscriptions.

But you're right. Amazon's the place to go. Guess it really depends on the stores themselves. My Gamestops suck and the Best Buys are great. When I lived in MO it was vice versa.

Sounds like they aren't following policy very well. My Best Buy follows policy well. Haven't had any issues with them since I lived in MO.

For me personally, tired of the hassle going through them. There's been 2 instances they went over pre-order limits and I didn't get my game, thankfully BB had them in stock. Plus the magazine subscriptions, edge cards, pre-order nagging, etc. But this is my Gamestops.

i always hear these horrible gamestop stories, but the 3 nearest to me are all great. no hassle, the new games are actually new, and the employees actually know what they're doing.

It's a new IP.

I just went for the easy joke. Sorry, this is the internet. Anyway, yeah, it's a new IP. It's an action-RPG in the style of the first mass effect but in a spy universe. I've been following it for a while, and it looks good. I will wait for a review though, before i pull out any cash.

AP sounds very fun, but definitely a wait for review game. Seems like it's going to be a hit or miss.

I really want this game to be good because the topic sounds interesting and I generally like spy/military games. I'm really in love with Splinter Cell and liked Bad Company 2. Unfortunately the last preview I read on Joystiq not too long ago (maybe 2-3 weeks?) discussed technical issues like screen tearing being a problem with the most recent build they've seen of the game.

I'd do a pre-order of this game based on the topic/story but I'm worried about the technical issues. I'll wait for reviews before shelling out $60.
