Only the lame Heart Gold version. Everybody knows Silver is where it's always been at.

True.

And hopefully this puts an end to "multiplats sell better on 360".

Which is odd since looking at the stats of both games and the pokemon available in each, Heart Gold is the better game. I played Pokemon Silver relentlessly on the Gamboy, and would have got Soul Silver if not for the comparisons i've read.

what? just because the PS3 has few outliners here and there that deviate from the norm doesnt mean thats its a trend or the status quo.

PS3 version of a game finally outsells the 360 version, and your saying its the norm.

Well no. I remember back when i had Pokemon Stadium 2, and they had very intricate details regarding pokemon stats and weaknesses. After weeks of research and testing i had Ho-oh in my primary top 6 pokemon, along with Magneton, Poliwrath, Mewtwo, Chansey and Venusaur. No weaknessess and no type doubling up.

That's ironic that you're calling BigFat out for spinning, "Dr.", considering that you started the article trying to assert that both FFXIII and BC2 outsold Pokemon which is half true at best and then came back with an inane argument stating that one PS3 title outselling its 360 counterpart is proof positive that multiplats don't sell better overall on Microsoft's box because - if anything - FFXIII is the exception that proves the rule; the rule being that multiplats sell better on the 360 and the exception being FFXIII.

Burnout Paradise (PS3) didn't even chart in the top ten.

Batman had the exclusive DLC which obviously pushed the sales for that.

And the others are???...

Now, 32x, spin, spin, spin!

thats about it though (dont forget FF), and like i said there are out liners, but nearly every multiplatform that comes out sells better on the 360.

you could make a way biiger 360 list.

I think it is interesting that the 48% increase over the last FF game can almost be completely attributed to the availability on the 360. If you only count Playstation sales of the game it is nearly identical.

No rim shot about it. This is the first time this generation that Sony has dominated the US software charts.

Big props to Sony. They are on a roll.

Sony's not really dominating the charts, though they are slightly ahead for the month. The difference is only about 60,000 units of software.

Sony software - 2.7286 million
Nintendo software - 2.6682 million

Plus, half of the Nintendo stuff up there is several months old.

I think the fact that it sold 40% more on the PS3 shows where the interest for this game is( FFv13). So for now it'll still be an exclusive.

Versus will stay exclusive for PS3.

in Japan

;)

---
0,5 milion of FF13 on X360 in USA alone certainly will make Square notice.
In Japan - thers X360 is more of less dead
Probably Versus will be this year "once again stolen something big from Sony" title.

did they have to promote it? FF is home on the PS3. it had the better version and everything. Yet you make 40% seem like only 10 people bought it. Thats the point i was trying to make, even if it was 40% (i like how you had to use a percent to prove your point, otherwise it would have look bad) that still a shit load of people (and even more money)

@FatBig (the destroyer of threads) If I wanted to make it seem like the PS3 version squashed it in sale I'd say something like twice as many or 500k more. I just don't think it'll happen. And so we can stop arguing a moot point, read my first post and notice I said for now.

You have to consider the PS3 didn't have systems to sell due to shortages. Wonder if GoW3 could have push a few system had they been widely available.

"Final Fantasy fans strongly prefer PS3, Battlefield fans strongly prefer 360"

That's how it seems to be going lately. The original XBOX and 360 have both been more shooter based and it seems the PS2 and 3 have been more RPG based. Though i'd have to say i see much more of a variety of genres on the PS3 than i do the 360.

Please, do elaborate. Cause from what I can tell its the opposite. Sure the 360 certainly has more shooters, but things to MS going on a spending spree to developers, it also seems to have more RPGs, or at the very least, gets all the RPGs 6 months earlier than the PS3.

I don't know. I work at a game store in columbus and when i put games out on the wall for both systems it just seems that the 360 is much more heavily populated with shooters. I guess the PS3 really isn't RPG based but their definatly is more variety in the genres on the PS3. Example:

Most notable excusives:

360:
Halo 3/ODST/Reach
Gears/Gears 2
Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead 2
Fable 2
Mass Effect/ Mass Effect 2
Forza 2/Forza 3

Out of the 12 360 titles worth mentioning, 58% are shooters and thats not counting Mass Effect as a shooter. If you did then that bumps it to 75%.

Shooters-58%
RPGs-25%
Racing-16%

PS3:
God of War 3
Killzone 2
Metal Gear Solid 4
Little Big Planet
Ratchet & Clank Tools of Destruction/Ratchet & Clank Crack in Time
MAG
Uncharted/Uncharted 2
Resistance/Resistance 2
Heavy Rain
InFamous
Demon's Souls
Gran Torismo 5
Mod Nation Racers
MLB the Show 08/09/10
3D Dot Game Heroes

Out of the 20 PS3 titles worth mentioning, 35% are shooters and that is counting MGS4 and Uncharted/2 as a shooter.

Shooters- 35%
RPGs- 10%
Action/Adventure- 10%
Racing- 10%
Sports- 15%
Platformer- 15%
Interactive- 5%

You called me out and are correct that the PS3 doesn't have the RPG leverage that i had thought but i guess my main point is when you stand back and look at the picture as a whole, PS3 covers allot more genres than the 360 does.

Yeah, thats TOTALLY a fair list. I could go into list wars about usually having better multiplats, exclusive DLC, all the excellent stuff on XBLA, indie games, and ALLLLLL of the other games you failed to mention that either come out first on 360 or only on 360, but ill just point you to http://www.metacritic.com/games/xbox360/scores

Because Im low on time. Too many Xbox games to play, you see.

I love the idea that working "at a game store" equates to knowing
jack about marketing and economics in gaming. In reality, it's like
saying a shift manager at McDonalds is an expert on advanced cattle
