Out of the 100-ish people that Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward is estimated to employ, a smattering have left over the past few weeks. Whether or not the various folks vacated their positions due to the recent shakeup at the studio is unknown, but PC Gamer UK put together a convenient way of telling exactly who has been crossed from the studio's list of employees -- by editing the credits from MW2 to reflect the recent changes.
Though the video neglects to cross off ex-senior animator Bruce Ferriz from the list, the 10 other employees certainly corroborate our reports. Unfortunately, given the near-daily losses the studio has seen, we're hoping that PC Gamer kept its Final Cut save file close at hand. Hit the break to check it out.
[Update: Changed headline from "Modern Warfare 2 credits edited to reflect vacated Infinity Ward positions" to the above, since some of you didn't bother to read the actual story for context. For shame!]
@tr1cky tpr I thought the same thing. I was shocked If they went back and "updated" the game to remove Jason and Vince from the credits that would be low even for them. Then Again Kodick is satan so I wouldn't put it past him.
For a second I thought the headline meant that Activision/Infinity Ward changed the in-game credits to reflect the departures. I was ready with some 1984 references, too! Awwww...
That wouldn't have passed Microsoft or Sony's certification. Whoever ended up having to certify the patch probably would've emailed back something to the effect of "you're joking, right?"
When I first read the title, I thought Activision had pushed an update to MW2 to change the credits. Which, while highly illegal (if my understanding is correct), wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
I'm curious because I have not heard this even once before... can you provide proof or an example of it being illegal for a company to remove someone's name from the credits of an entertainment product created while employed at said company?
All those story guys made Jesse Stern look like a douche... and where all my leadz at?! jk, they're probably havin a big party at some bar. *must find bar*
yea i mean..you gotta draw squigglies all the way up....then all the way down...then you just gotta go crazy to portray the unique rocks and wow the player...its insane im surprised they didnt hire more artists....
I know you guys are messing around, but until you guys know the amount of work it takes to make the graphics and textures for the game, you can't really make fun of them.
