I think it's a fun game. I don't know how much I'd play it alone, but it's great for get-togethers and parties.

Also, to get more points you usually have to put more effort into replicating the dance moves, which is why people tend to use their entire body while dancing. Also, the game is really picky with how you dance, so it also helps to use your entire body because you can easily match their movements.

I'm actually considering buying the game regardless of how lackluster it is. I want my friends to have fun when they come over. I think i'm just waiting for a magic $20 price tag.

Well, Gamestop has it on sale now for $30 during their "new game hot deals" thing. I've been considering picking it up myself to play with my girls. They beg me to buy it every time we go into Gamestop.

You know what? AWESOME. At least there's a game made for Wii thats:
1. Not a mini game collection.
2. Is actually really fun, especially after a couple of drinks.
and finally,
3. Has my fat ass actually MOVING when i play the Wii.

I totally agree. If Wii developers focused more on making great party experiences, they'd be rolling in dough.

There's a reason why this game is selling well; it's not a fluke.

I have tried not to respond further to this thread. I even, mistakenly tried to get a little political (stupid move on my part, sorry to dilute the issue at hand). But, I have to respond to the statement that they will "make more crap"...

Who doesn't make crap? EA? THQ? Sega? Namco? Sony? MS? Squenix? Koei? Tecmo? Konami? Nintendo? MS? Everyone makes crap of one kind or another--whether to appeal to a market that you are not a part of, to cover a bad development job by just shoving the title out the door before more cycle time is lost, by making fan service games, or just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.

There is a broad audience for content out there, the Wii has proven that. To dismiss the one console in the world with an install base whose size exceeds all of our expections would be a foolish thing for these companies to do. Unfortunately, no one can figure out what the hell to do with the Wii, other than Nintendo, and they just keep shoveling the same shit they have shoveled since the NES. Another Super Mario Brothers? Please give me a break. Another Halo? Christ, how many repeats of Halo 1 do we need? Is Kratos losing his powers again in his pursuit of the destruction of the gods? Madden? All great games, all retreads, no originality, and people are buying it just like they buy bottled tap water. It fulfills the customer's perceived need. Not all the games in the Imagine series are bad, and just because you own a PSP does not mean the DS is a turd.

The reason these companies keep making Assassin's Creed 2, is because they still want to make a game like AS2. There is always a chance that a hardcore game will stick and become a strong revenue stream like Modern Warfare 2.

It's a game for guys with girlfriends. :-) Or who want them. 'Wanna come back to mine and play this great Wii dancing game', is far better a chat up line than 'Wanna watch me veg out of the sofa and blow peoples heads off'

Picked this up and played it as a break from NSMBWii.

Girlfriend is better at both.

I stick to L4D on the PC.

Yeah, I wish I could delete that post--its waaay too far off topic. I usually censor myself better than that.
