Within the span of nine days, we've seen Pokémon Black & White go from being announced to being featured in magazines to, now, appearing in video form on the madness-fueled weekly Japanese show Pokémon Sunday. A Siliconera reader with a penchant for insanityvision (like television, but, ya know, insane) spotted the footage, which has the show's hosts (and Lucario) gasping and commenting on a brief gameplay clip.
Since our resident PokéxpertGriffin McElroy is out this weekend, we're unable to confirm whether the footage matches the levels of excitement displayed by the show's hosts, but we have to imagine that, somewhere, he just got stood up and cheered without knowing why. See it for yourself after the break.
what did Crystal have that HeartGold and SoulSilver dont have? they didnt remake Yellow Version when they made FireRed and LeafGreen so i doubt a Crystal remake, its not needed
Crystal introduced: -Option for a female playable character -Altered storyline giving higher importance to Suicune over Entei and Raikou -Network capabilities through a cellphone-attached modem (JP only) -Battle Tower -Animated Pokémon sprites
Most of those have been staples of the series since, networking changed to a standard wi-fi connection, and animated sprites grew to include animated sprites for the Pokémon on your side.
A Crystal remake would not be necessary.
Yellow, however, was quite different from Red, Green, and Blue. -The sprite of the player, Brock, and Misty were edited to reflect their anime counterparts. -Team Rocket's Jessie, James, and Meowth were added. -Your only option for a starter Pokémon is Pikachu, and he never goes inside his Poké Ball. You can talk with him, and he has actual voice samples. This Pikachu could not evolve (at least, not unless you traded him to another game). -You could obtain Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander through the progress of the game.
So, Yellow was quite different, and none of its alterations were represented in FireRed/LeafGreen, but I seriously doubt we'd get an ElectricYellow any time soon. ... Maybe for 3DS.
@Katana Master: You got the original three starters in Yellow from the same people that Ash got them from in the anime.
Bulbasaur: Girl taking care of plant Pokemon in Ceruelean City decides she can trust you with Bulbasaur after you rescue Bill. Charmander: (Idiot) Punk in the route above Ceruelean City complains that Charmander is weak, and was immediately willing to give Charmander to you for free. Squirtle: Officer Jenny in Vermillion City decides that you can take care of a particularly troublesome Squirtle.
Oh god, so much game and anime nostalgia. Firefighting Squirtle Squad (complete with shades and attitude to match!) was awesome.
Seriously, after you get all three of them (and possibly Snorlax and Lapras later on), you were pretty much set for the rest of the game.
Don't those presenters have any dignity, To be able to present a show about pokémon while maintaining your friends and family respect for you is a miracle not even jesus could perform, Over 18s can only speak about pokémon to themselves or on the internets.
Im 20, and I talk about pokemon with my 20 Y.O. friends who also play pokemon an we fell no shame. But still, I must say that the guy with the orange fro/mohawk is rather creepy.
Me and my wife are 25 and watch pokemon episodes when we're killing time at home. I'm currently sitting with HG next to keyboard. A friend of mine and I exchange texts now and then about pokemon. He's 30.
