Powering up the ol' N64 with Super mario 64 sticking out. It was unlike anything I had seen before. It was, however, pretty confusing for a 6-year old. When it was my turn (5 brothers), I instinctively perched my left hand on the d-pad. After my futile efforts to move Mario, I proceded to cry: I thought I broke it, and feared the wrath of my two older siblings. After five tear and snot-filled minutes, I learned about the new-fangled joystick, and become one happy camper (for my limited 15 minutes, anyway!).

When I was 9, I played R-Type on the Turbo Grafx-16. Obviously, that game was extremely difficult so I taped the fire button on turbo and with one hand for controlling and one hand for the pause button. Even with instant slow-mow cheating, i needed the credit cheat and the whole summer just to beat that game. I don't know if the game was that hard or i was that bad at shmups. =P

When I was younger, I wasn't allowed to buy a slingshot from the store. I attempted to make my own out of a piece of wood I found in a "Y-shape". I also used this rubber tubing stuff and was ready to fire away. I loaded it with a rock, aimed it my parents house and... The slingshot broke on my first attempt, piece of wood snapped off and whacked me in the face, it hurt.

September ninth, in the year of our Lord two thousand and six. I was a freshman, attending my first football game as a member of the student band. In the pre-game show, our marching band spells out the name of out mascot; to do this, we charge onto the field in six distinct groups, each of which will become a letter, then when time comes we disperse and run to our spot.

I was to stand at the bottom of the "O," second from the left from the crowd's perspective; just in between the 22 and 23 yard line. It had rained earlier in the afternoon, thus the field was somewhat slick. As I am lunging towards my spot I lose traction, and slide kick the poor flute player beside me, who also comes tumbling down. Right in front of the student section.

A couple years back I did a short historical piece on Nankin Mills in the Metro Detroit area. Since this piece was a homework assignment, I must've spent 40+ hours shooting it, editing it, and doing touch ups. I had the opportunity to send it to the Detroit Chapter of NATAS for the student section of the Michigan Emmy's. Well, they held their nomination dinner in Royal oak and I reluctantly didn't go, but later in that evening I found out that I was nominated....The kicker was that I was the only one that actually passed the nomination process (among other universities in Michigan) which means I won an Emmy...

It was an amazing feeling to actually be around local news/television personalities and actually be announced by two sports broadcasters on Fox Sports Detroit (HUUUGEEE Sports fan) . Not only was that amazing, but also having the opportunity to do a Thank-You speech in front of all these people. :)

Funny and memorable thing I remember was when me, my brother and one of my best friends went to this restaurant for dinner; asked for the bill and paid and stuff... before we left (this place has crayons at the table) my friend grabbed a blue crayon and drew a penis on the bill (not the back of it, the FRONT). While we were walking to the car, my friend said "The waitress is probably saying 'THOSE COCKY BASTARDS'"

I was walking down the soda/snacks aisle at a local Safeway one day and decided to flick a dime all the way down the aisle to hit my friend in the back.

It was the kind of throw where you squeeze the coin between you thumb and ring finger and then snap...anyway...I flicked the dime and it veered to the right, hit a can of soda and it exploded on impact....craziest thing I've ever had happen to me

Back in college, my roommate Dan had his sister over to experience the college party scene. They got home at about 3am. I was already in bed. Later that night, I heard the words "DAN, WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING!?!!" That caused me to open my eyes to see my clock showing exactly 5am.

And then I felt warm....

I look up, and there's Dan, big stupid smile on his face, peeing on my bed. Since I was in a state of complete disbelief, I calmly remarked, "Dan...you're peeing on me."

He smiled and said, "YEAAAH!"

At this point I was evaluating my options. I was in a very good position to punch him; however, this came with the unfortunate side effect of the highly probable situation of him peeing everywhere. This "everywhere" included my face and my computer, and I'm not entirely sure which I'd be more upset about.

That said, after what seemed like an eternity of pee, he calmly went back to sleep as his sister looked at me like a deer caught in headlights. That's when I realized it would be kinda low of me to beat a drunk man to death in front of his sister, so I spent the rest of the morning rotating between the shower and the laundry room. When I got back to the room from my 8am class, I opened the door to find Dan well hung over as his sister explained what happened. And that's when I said the words,

"You and I are never speaking of this again.....and you owe me big time."
