Well that settles it, we will never see a real Splinter Cell game again.

If you have to ask whats "wrong" with conviction you have obviously never played a real Splinter cell game. I hope this is just a detour ..

While I think I enjoy what I've played of Conviction more than the originals, I can totally see why the fans of the originals are disappointed.

I'm a fan of the originals and I love Conviction. People on the internet just love to complain.

I'm a huge fan of the original and Chaos Theory, but Conviction is still awesome in its own right. Here's how I see it: Sam Fisher is a highly-trained killing machine on a personal mission of revenge. Is he really going to pussy around using non-lethal takedowns any more?

@jmood88

There's really no where else better to do it. Aside from sending an email to Ubisoft about your disappointments with the game, this is really the best place for it.

On topic: I've been loving the new one, but i'll admit i couldn't keep up with the originals. They just called for alot of patience and at the time the first came out i had the attension span of a cracked out ferret.

I liked Conviction a lot.

I'm just saying that it's unlikely now that they will ever go back to the "real" Splinter Cell (i.e. what it has been for the past 10 years).

Double Agent was a good game. Everyone just hated on it so much on the internet that everyone just assumed and went along with the "fact" that it "sucked".

It was polished, it looked amazing, played great and had a cool storyline save for the JBA levels. Go play Chaos Theory or SC:C Co Op if you miss old school splinter cell.

Conviction is good stuff, it BETTER be #1

Just Cause 2 & Just Dance are still in the top 10? I REALLY think putting Just in the title appeals to the UK audience....

from what I played of it I would agree....but good enough to be in the top 10 still? maybe....

I wish I could have finished it by now, but I got some crazy glitch where I was recording for youtube and it recorded all it could, I went to upload the video and it failed, sent me back to the game and my camera couldn't move. I thought if I restarted the game I would be good.....nope...the save file is corrupted to have that same stuck camera that I cant rotate....and I have another save file BUT its 10 hours into the game where as the autosave that I was using mainly is 34 hours in.....I REALLY dont want to go thru all that again....

There doesn't really seem to be a need for that anytime soon.. As long as JD1 keeps sellin like that..

...and given the video review i saw on gametrailers, the game should be called Just Dunce..

If Ubisoft is smart they'll avoid it, and instead try something else original. Wii sequels generally have a terrible record, even if they noticeably improved on the original

Erm....I have to admit, I also bought Just Dance, but in my defence, it was for my sister and mum, I think it will stick around for a while, its spreading like a virus, mothers see it at a childs birthday party, go and buy it for thier child, people come to that childs party and see it, they go and buy it for thier children, and so on and so forth :D

As for Conviction, I'm not suprised, I would have been a lil confused if it hadn't claimed #1, its a good game, who knows how long that will last though. The steam for just dance is picking up again, and to make matters worse, theres a singing disney game thats getting popular :/

Despite all this downvoting, I really have to agree... Conviction IS a fantastic game, but it is absolutely NOTHING like ANY of the originals. It simply takes the characters and story from the IP. I'm not complaining, again it plays great, but I wish they merely wouldn't have called it a sequel, and I truly hope they do begin on a next-gen SC like the originals.

Weird...

I thought piracy killed consoles and software sales (according to all the comments I have read on the Sony vs Geohot Other OS Debacle)...

Yet, I see a number of games in that list for the Wii and 360 (where piracy runs RAMPANT!!!!!!) that seem to be selling quite well.

Interesting huh?

I don't think too many moms know how to pirate, so I don't think wii fit or just dance kind of games will ever see a drop in sales due to piracy.

Developers give piracy too much credit for "their demise".

While I totally agree with them that it can cost them quite a bit in sales, it isn't like piracy is targeting their Achilles heel or something.

SC: Conviction will live to sell 2.5+ million units lifetime on the 360, and probably ~200-500k lifetime on the PC.

Not to mention it'll probably be ported to the PS3 within the year and sell even more copies.

Why does every "Top Retail" report need to start with a blurb about "Just Dance"?

It's a tissue-thin activity of a game.

Stop...JUST STOP!

Take with a pinch of salt.

Battlefield appears to be out of stock in many retails including Argos, Shopto, gameplay, game etc.

That's gotta throw the charts somewhat.

That's a good point actually, but that still doesn't explain the success of Splinter Cell...

My point is this: if you make a badass game, people WILL buy it.

Contrary to what some companies may try to shove down our throats, piracy does not kill a console, and there are WAY more people that pay for their games than those that do not. Splinter Cell is a perfect example of a great game that is selling well despite the fact that it is very easy to download and play copied games on the 360.

If you build it, they will come. I think it's great!

Splinter Cell is a great game. The single player and co-op campaigns are very fun and addictive. I'm happy I bought my 360 for Splinter Cel. I still feel like I ripped of with the LE though. But that's ok. I'll sell my LE to a friend and get the regular editition @ Kmart if it goes on sale for $40 tomorrow. Good deal!

Are there really Splinter Cell fans who don't like CONVICTION....

I've played all the Splinter Cells completely and love the series....

Conviction (from what I've played so far) is an excellent continuation of the series.
Yes the multi-kills you can achieve after doing a up close and personal attack makes the game a bit easier but the tone and story and pacesetting are all Splinter Cell.

I love it. Haven't tried the multi-player yet......so will reserve my final judgement after that.
