Get both Deus Ex games for $5 on Steam

Deus Ex: Human Revolution may be a long ways off, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the first two games in the series right now. In fact, if you've never dabbled in the series before, now is the perfect time, as Steam has both Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition and its sequel Deus Ex: Invisible War on sale. Normally $9.99 each, both games have been lowered to a ridiculously low $2.50. According to Joystiq sister site Big Download, the sale is on until Thursday, so get your cheap cyber-action while it's hot.

CHRIST, Steam on mac now please! (Though I guess it still wouldn't matter for these games since they are PC...)

I have copies of both of these games somewhere, but Steam managed to magically just take 5 dollars out of my wallet right now. It's weird how it does that sometimes.

Haha, yeah - I did the same thing over the Christmas sale, despite having physical copies of both. Two of the original Deus Ex, actually.

Do they work properly on Vista/7? Or are they broken like most of the "older" games Steam sells?

This is something I would like to figure out because I will totally buy them if they will work on Windows 7.

Since it works on Win 7 64 bit...SOLD! I bet it'll be a bit different playing through it was all the detail settings on max and rediculous 24xCFAA and still probably having 100+ fps

Bought these today. Loved the first game when I played it years ago; not so much the second. But I couldn't pass up this deal. The first game runs fine on Vista. I haven't tried the second one yet.

"A deus ex machina is a plot device whereby a previously intractable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with an often contrived introduction of a new character, ability, or object."
I had an intractable problem, wherein I did not own these two games. Fortuitously, this was suddenly solved by this sudden sale. A coincidence, I think not.

I had been meaning to pick up the original Deux Ex from Steam for some time, but always thought that $10 was a little too steep. Imagine my surprise when I saw that both games were offered as a bundle for five freakin' dollars.
Yeah, I bought it. I bought it so hard.

Damn you Steam and your irresistible deals!

Seconded. They really know how to make you unconsciously burn through mad cash. 2 bucks there, 5 bucks there - before I know it, I'm taking out a second mortgage on the house and cutting down on eating.

I'm waiting for The Orange Box to drop to $10 again, just as it dropped to $10 in late April 2009. Yes, I am a tool for not buying it and playing it yet.

Do you like Valve? Do you like Half-Life? Do you like Team Fortress 2? Do you like Portal? Do you like the Portal song, "Still Alive"?
If you answered yes to any of these, quit being such a bitch and lay down the 30 bucks. 30 bucks for 5 awesome games!
You disgust me...

Do they work in 7? Don't know or care. People find ways (just like KOTOR), and I'm buying it now so I can say 'Yes, I own that. For so little I once again got so much.'

I've played the first one and part of the second one via friends' copies. Sounds like it's time to buy these for myself now!

So you have to hijack a thread about a PC game on Steam for this? Do you need to be heard THAT badly?

Its big gaming news come on! Noone would have expected a new handheld this year. I don't need to be heard that badly, but this news should be heard that badly.

Yes, it was discussed above. Works in win7. Both 64 and 32 bit versions.

The first Deus Ex was such a great game. I wish I had time to replay it. It's hard to resist such an amazing price, and playing the second would be cool (never heard if it was good or not though) - but I just don't have any time in the near future to play them :(

It's one of those things where the first game is so revered (and rightfully so) that the sequel was hated by hardcore fans. A good parallel might be Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Invisible War is a good game in its own right, and now that PC specs have vastly improved it might actually run well on the average mid-to-low level PC.

I've played the first one, not tried the second heard it was consolefied.
This looks like a good deal, but as I've discovered with these steam deals, it costs me much more in TIME than money. The question is can I afford the Time?

Yeah, I own both disc versions already for PC-WIN, so probably not. But jeez, for only $2.50 to get some background on one of those games that is referenced all the time is nothing.

Can someone tell me if a huge Ghost in the Shell fan would like these? (played all the GITS games, Oni, etc...) For $5 for both, I'm temped to get them anyways.

Probably! They share some similar themes. But you should be buying this just because it's a damn fine game.

God dammit steam!
I figured Dx2 would never be on sale so I bought it last week, I always wanted to try it out even if most people say it sucks.
