although i'm getting this day one, i don't think it's very smart to limit the audience base for multiplayer maps.

so basically, you'll only be able to play those maps with the limited amount of people who specifically preordered the game from gamestop.

If the maps are a $5 dlc in the future it wont make that much difference because gamestop charges $5 for pre-orders anyway i do believe. But yes skins or silly little guides are fine for pre-order incentive but this is where i start getting irritated about bonuses.

charges 5 dollars for a pre-order?

or charges 5 dollars and takes that from the full price later?

because if you are paying extra, you are doing it wrong.

Just depends, was it a pre-order bonus originally, and only going to be that for a while, or did they just take something out of the game to give a preorder bonus?

we'll never know for sure.

Is this technically DLC? or is it included on the disk. My rage depends on this.

Other people don't "have to" pay for anything, and JJ is absolutely right. They will end up with a lot of people who won't be able to play together because some people don't like to pre-order, or simply don't like Gamestop.

But the majority of those people won't BUY the DLC maps, which means less people to play them with.

This isn't Call of Duty.
...

And it's NOTHING like MS buying exclusives.

And you suck at replying.

Oh... so you mean this game will ship incomplete then. Tell you what Capcom, let's make a deal: Since I don't restrict where you can make the game, it makes little sense for you to restrict the place I buy it from right? You give me a complete game, and I'll buy it. Reasonable, no?

(I wonder when consumers will realize they have the power of demand instead of the other way around...)

Really guys, its freakin free dlc! Its not like Gamestop is making you pay extra for your game. If you're already gonna drop 60 on a freakin game, why not just preorder and work it like a layaway, thus dropping less at once?

It's a limit of choices, it's using a product as a hostage, it's taking away the freedom of purchasing "the same product" wherever you feel most comfortable doing so. And actually, say you purchase the game at Best Buy, or even Gamestop sans the preorder, you're paying the same full price for a game that isn't complete, or from a different perspective, you're paying the same as another person, and that person is getting more because they chose to give away their freedom. Do you not like freedom son?

There are plenty of people, like me, who don't like buying most games at full price. I'm a "year later" gamer most of the time. Aside from a crazy year where all I did was sit in fron of my PS3 with gobs of extra money to burn, I usually wait until the price comes down. Therefore, people like myself are screwed out of playing two multiplayer maps that plenty will inevitably be playing. What if they are the best two maps? I don't care about the extra weapons and costumes, but when you start fragmenting the online community of a console game, you're creating furstrations for the players, and it's ultimately bad for the online experience.

Haha, like you can say we have "freedom" in this country. If we all bitch about this, we might as well about "console exclusitivity". Bigger issue.

I don't plan to get this, but I find it stupid to limit your playerbase on these maps to just people who pre-ordered and people who didn't.

Companies don't get this whole pre-order thing.

Wow, this exclusive pre-order crap is getting ridiculous. Sooner or later then going to start having exclusive game modes for pre-orders.

Oh wait: http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2010/03/24/exclusive-game-mode-with-the-forgotten-sands-pre-order/

I've grown to not mind pre-order DLCs anymore, but shop-exclusive DLCs are just ridiculous!

I don't have a Gamestop in my country so I can not get this :(

That's not the issue. I have no doubt there will be "enough." But any time you divide your community you are weakening it.

I agree with your logic regarding your analogy to exclusives. But as for retailer loyalty, it's not even necessarily about who has the best pre-order bonus, but who might have the best price a little while after the game is released.

Think about it, would you rather pay $60 now and get a small bonus, or wait a week and only pay $40 for a new copy? Maybe that's a bit of an exaggerated example, but things like that do happen. Bottom line is that it sucks that people have to miss out on a more complete package simply because they're trying to save some money.

I'm all for pre-order bonuses, costumes, skins, etc, but offering things that affect the functionality of the game is going a bit too far if you ask me.

I hate to say it, but you guys are getting too worked up over this.
Like the article said; "and will also be made available for all owners of the game to purchase at an unspecified point in time after the game's release."

So don't think of it as pre-ordering to get two extra maps early, think of it as getting two extra maps early and for FREE. :P

If you're pre-ordering the game anyways, (I pre-ordered before this was even announced,) a weak bonus is better than nothing, right?
