Now that I think of it, Capcom has put out so many great franchises over the past two decades that it's surreal; most 3rd party developers/publishers would only have a notable few.
Capcom undoubtedly is, and will remain, one of best companies in this biz.

Btw, no PS Home outfits, because those are already available.

I saw the pics of the avatar clothes on Dtoid, and if I find anyone on my XBL friends list wearing that stuff I'm removing them. Bet on it. :P
Well, except the Rufus outfit. It just looks so wrong on a skinny avatar. Like, Bruno wrong.

Do not want. The beauty of SF4 was that you jumped into a game, played it and that was it. This new system will undoubtedly force players to spend less time playing the game and more time waiting around and it will reduce the number of players engaging in the traditional online modes.

You realize this stuff is optional, right? You can still do exactly what you described, just like you did before.
For me this is great. SF4 was great for jumping in with randoms but for playing with a group of friends it was pathetic. We had to basically pair off and just forget everyone else existing. The stuff in this video is literally exactly the kind of stuff we were looking for. It's like they read out minds.

Still and forever the king of fighting games. My friends and I used to ride our bikes to the bowling alley miles from our neighborhood to pump quarters into their Street Fighter 2 machine, man it was so much fun. This game is going to be awesome and the $40 price tag makes it the best new game value of this generation.

A while back Joystiq mentioned that there would be something special for the people who already had the game installed on their HDD when they put this one in.
Has anyone found out what that something special is? Should I rent the game to get this bonus content?

Its not a completely useless pointless waste! Just think, Chun-Li in a slightly different hue. Fantastic.

Yeah, when I heard about the avatar stuff, I would have settled for that as the extra content, even though that hardly qualifies. A video filter is not "content", even though it looks pretty cool. It's not going to keep me from spending the 40 bucks on SSFIV, but seriously...that's a bit lame.
I'm hoping there's more "exclusive content" than a graphics filter.

Nope, still not worth the price of admission. I paid $70+ bucks last year for Street Fighter 4 special edition, I'm not paying another $44 for basically DLC.
If Capcom was serious, they'd offer a trade up program. We send them our copy of Street Fighter 4, and an extra $20 and we get Super Street Fighter 4.
This does 2 things
1) Keeps the fans/gamers happy - it doesn't feel like a rip off, because it's really an upgrade.
2) Avoids splitting up the online community between SF4 and SSF4. With the trade up program, you maximize the amount of people on SSF4 while at the same time shrinking the SF4 community, which benefits SSF4 online a lot!
Of course this would take some effort on Capcom's part... but if they don't put some effort in, they just turn into Activision.

What you are experiencing is called "buyer's remorse" or "bloody-ass syndrome." Capcom bent you over the table and didn't even have the common courtesy to bring the KY. You have every right to resist the bloody ass treatment all over again. I support that.
With that being said, this is actually a great deal provided you didn't purchase the first game (or the special edition, what are you crazy?!) at full price. I think a $10 rebate for SF4 owners would be good enough. This is a pretty substantial update.

It's funny how much I've got down voted, and the only comment was a partial agreement (combined with the disturbing bloody-ass syndrome).
What surprises me is gamers aren't concerned about the online community being split, I guess time will tell but how many people had a difficult time playing Lost Planet online when Capcom released the special Colonies edition a year after?
Maybe Super Street Fighter is coming out too soon, or maybe I'm just concerned that they'll release yet another version next year (they say no, but it's hard to take Capcom's word for it).
The biggest disappointment is that I kind of want this package, but really can't justify buying two Street Fighter games in as many years. However, it's start price is $44 Canadian... that'll likely drop pretty fast and in 5-6 months I'm sure I'll be able to pick it up at a more reasonable $25-$30.

So has no-one else actually downloaded this game yet, it's been available to download for a few days now.
I was really quite excited about the Bonus Stages they were reintroducing because they were a lot of fun to play back in the day but they're actually pretty tedious. Thank god they give you the option to turn them off.
