I won't buy one, but it's not a terrible idea. I used to haul my playstation around everywhere as a kid. Going to someone else's house without it just seemed stupid. But now, I never want to unhook my Wii. It's only one more thing to pack up, really (the sensor bar), but it seems like such an extra pain.

Well, it's either the sensor bar thing or the fact that I'm 26 (and staying the night at a friend's house just sounds weird) that keeps me from packing up the Wii.

I do tend to travel a lot with my Wii, and this would be helpful so I didn't have to crawl behind my tv every time.

Somehow I managed to finagle a free scart lead to go with my Saturn's RF unit. The scart lead stayed at my neighbour's place where I'd drag it over every other day to enjoy "sharp" visuals. To an extent, scart was like the HD of its day.

4,200yen = £30

That's a bit dear though.

That's actually kind of neato. I do a version of this when I switch from my HDTV to my SD, its not that hard since I use component on one and the included composite on the other.

The PS3 slim makes it even easier because that power cable is pretty easy to find in old electronics.

Hah, wow. That is -exactly- what I do when I go from college to being back home on breaks. The Japanese Wii's cables and sensor bar stay at the apartment and I use the western set at my parent's house.

I wonder if you could scrap up Wii's composite cables, power cord, and sensor bar from used retailers for under $45... it seems very, very possible.

I have a complete set of extra cables for when I take the Wii to a family member's house for games night. It makes it a whole lot easier to do instead of digging around behind the entertainment center both to unhook the wires and then hook them back up later.

I wished I had extra cables every time I took the wii to campus. I would find an empty room, and plug it into the projector. This made the half hour compile times for the embedded systems final at 3am bearable.

I have two sets I use my Wii with. I did by an extra set of component video cables so I could I don't need to go behind the tv's, but I wish I had an extra ps/sensor bar to make life even easier.. I can see where something like this could be useful.
