First Rock Band Network tracks coming to PSN tomorrow

The first songs from the Rock Band Network to be available on PS3 will be released tomorrow, April 22, 2010. The five selected songs are "some of the most popular tracks" from the full selection:

Individual Tracks (with expected prices based on Xbox 360 RBN pricing)

Flogging Molly - "Drunken Lullabies" (Live) ($1)
Jonathan Coulton - "Code Monkey" ($2)
The Shins - "Australia" ($2)
The Slip - "Even Rats" ($2)
Steve Vai - "For the Love of God" (Live) ($2)

Harmonix explained that, due to the way submissions work on PSN, the company is "currently capped at 5 songs per week." The developer explains that despite "practical realities that aren't in [its] immediate control," it is trying to bring out as much music as possible.

That's lame of Sony.

I have to agree, hopefully they'll sort something out within the game.

something's better than nothing, but still kinda BS on Sony's part.

Well, seems to be a smart move if the goal is money because I'm gonna buy it. I'm just disappointed with Sony's PSN policies making things difficult for developers. I was really hoping to get the Flight of the Conchords tracks as soon as possible.

A live version of one of my favorite songs of all time played by one of my favorite instruments of all time by one of my favorite musicians of all time? And now I get to play that piece of music?

Ah come on Sony step up and let Harmonix release what they want. There is always something about Sony that makes me kinda second guess giving full support to them this console gen.

I don't get it, why is there a cap of 5 songs per week? They usually release 6-9 tracks a week anyway; so those 5 other tracks would make the total between 11-14 which still isn't the max amount of tracks HMX has ever released on a single day.

Whatever, so long as the Third Eye Blind and Bang Camaro tracks come soon I'm good.
