Make sure your consoles have adequate breathing space. Make sure they are not in a cabinet or enclosed. They will fry themselves.

@phinnvr6

"I fired up the 360 to play some BC2 tonight and Red-Ringed 3 minutes into my first match. Just needed to vent -- better get my box back before the Reach beta..."

" better get my box back before the Reach beta..."

"Reach beta..."

PS3=/=Reach Beta

How can they call it "NEW" maps when we already have them they are just making it seem like things are new as they "Rationing" what maps will let you play what mode.

When the game shipped we should have been able to use "All the Maps" with "All the Modes" of play, then to keep people from getting to know a map like the back of their hand, ALL NEW maps would be added. Not to mention that other Call to Arms game, but at least they give totally new areas to play in usually. If I didn't have the VIP version I'd not buy them

Why play bad company when MW2 is out?
Because I only need one copy of Unreal Tournament.

Fully destructible environments, amazing sound effects (yes they are that good), dedicated servers, larger 24/32 player games, actual game types with real objectives not just killing people to get kill streaks, tons of vehicles including choppers, tanks, and boats, massive outdoor environments, real bullet physics affected by gravity, guns that have actual recoil and require skill, free map packs...

I could go on and on. The Battlefield franchise has been around longer and is far more unique... Bad Company 2 is way better than MW2, not just on paper.

This is bullshit! They should have unlocked all the stuff already on the disc to all VIP players on day one.

Can anyone confirm whether or not tonights update was the balancing patch? I didn't notice any differences, but I wasn't really using anything that was drastically affected by it.

I didn't see a Battlefield update last night, unless you're talking about the PS3 system update...which has nothing to do with battlefield.

Nah, I'm playing it on the 360. Had to download a decent sized update before I started the game.

The balancing patch was only for the PC version. The latest update enabled SPECACT (and probably contained the data that would be unlocked upon the release of Map Pack 3). According to DICE the balancing patch will make its way to console owners "eventually".

A: It's already on the disc. Nothing to download other than the VIP code and a trigger to unlock the content.

B: Rush should be played only because they screwed up Conquest mode.

Well all I did was get my Veteran activated and bam my VIP was reset. Not really sure why but I posted it on the EA forums and it only happened to 1 other guy so I guess its rare.

Greatsam:

You said "bro" in a somewhat serious fashion. That alone invalidates anything you say.

I'm hoping that one of these days these "map packs" will actually be new maps and not just "Hey, you can use this existing map for this other game type now!"

Why do i get the impression that the VIP pass will only end up providing us new modes on existing maps, and that new maps (whenever they come out) will cost extra money?

I'm not complaining really, it's their right to charge for actual new maps, as long as they don't rip off consumers like Activision.

I love me some BF BC2, but I wish they'd stop calling things that you should already have "vip dlc". I get that these are what you get for buying the game new and all, but it still feels cheap. I would love to see some actual new maps be released as "vip dlc".

Also, lose that freakin' horn...

But by far, I'm enjoying this game much more than MW2, even with the new "stimulus" maps. It's just a deeper game.

I absolutely love FPS. I'm a Call of Duty MW fan. I have 100+ hours in MW2. I really liked the MW 1 & 2 campaigns (although they must have been written by someone that was high on some kind of psychotropic drug); MW2 indeed has a better single player campaign than Battlefield: Bad Company 2's campaign, but it is not the best FPS single player campaign by any means (Bioshock or Metroid Prime comes to mind instead). But, in terms of multiplayer gaming, Bad Company 2 is a far better experience. It just is. I am a good MW2 player, I have "skill" and don't do any cheap tactics. Both games have their advantages and disadvantages. For example, you can go prone in MW, rack a lot of kills, have a more "fast gameplay" perception (mainly due to the fact that MW maps are small), things that you can't in BF:BC which some are annoying (the prone issue consumes me in rage). In the other hand and after some time invested in the game, I got really good, learned how to do teamwork, appreciated the destruction 2.0, appreciated the huge maps, the physics, the vehicles, the extremely balanced classes and overall the strategy needed to win a match, which is far more rewarding than MW2's rush for the kills or the objectives everyone at the same time without any strategy whatsoever. So, as much a fan of MW I am, and even though when I first popped BF:BC2 in my console, I got raped. I have to admit that BF:BC2 is a better gaming experience and a better challenge. That's just my opinion and my cool story though.

Sounds like another DLC we will "download" from the disc. Either way all I want is more rush maps. And I don't want the same scenery. They better not do Map pack 4: Arica Harbor reverse. NEW maps. Please.

I really like BC2 and definitely a lot better than MW2 i love the fact you cant go prone so for all of you who don't want to get BC2 cuz u cant go prone listen to this, like we said this game is REALISTIC this game is So REALISTIC the outfits are camouflaged and blend in with the ground so if you could go prone in BC2 it would be a sucky game. everyone would go prone on top of a dead body in rush after they armed the charge, you would come in 3/4 of the way disarming the charge BOOM noobtubed!
So for all you HATERS BC2 OWNS MW2 and all CODs SUCK MY LEFT NUT!!!!!!
