Asia gets limited edition Final Fantasy XIII Lightning controller

Don't you wish you had a matching controller for that limited edition 250GB Lightning PS3 you bought from Japan? Well, if you go to Hong Kong or Taiwan, you'll be able to do just that. To celebrate the new Chinese language release of Final Fantasy XIII, a new special edition DualShock 3 controller will be released. For about $90, you'll be able to get a bundle that includes the Chinese language version of the game, a PSN card, and a special Lightning-branded white DualShock controller, featuring the same pink design as the LE console.

Just took a look at the site and theres two packages one at HKD$699/USD$90 which comes with the game, pad and a PSN card. Then theres a HKD$799/USD$100 package with the game, pad, PSN card, mini soundtrack, artbook and two other things I'm not too clear on.

The site also lists every perchase of the game will come with avatars for PSN. It says you'll get one of four cards, now I dunno if all 4 cards will be needed for all the avatars or if each card will activate all the avatars.

It's a damn good deal, isn't it?

I'm not going to buy the game until I play a rented copy... too many people claim it has problems that would annoy me. And too many people say it's a great game for me to ignore it completely.

Something like this in the US market would really move more product.

No, it's in Chinese.
If you haven't heard, the PS3 managed to overcome the piracy problem that prevented many other games from being released there in the past.

it's supposedly in Japanese with Chinese subtitles and menus.

Damn...

Will it work on U.S. machines? I know updates can mess up the controllers.
