Developer Shin'en released a trailer for its WiiWare platformer Jett Rocket. Let's just get this out of the way: Wow, this looks nice for a WiiWare game. We're kind of amazed by how nice the environments and the lighting effects look! It seems like there are plenty of interesting elements (or gimmicks) in the levels, as well. Oh, not to mention that the protagonist has a jetpack.
Shin'en has yet to date the platformer. We're certain we don't have to say this, but we would warn the developer to avoid releasing a 3D platformer in May.
Looks really good, but it does bring a bit of worry. The game looks to have a strong amount of content, which either means it's going to take up a lot of blocks or will be released in episodic format.
Still, looks to be a rather enjoyable, if not unique, platformer.
It's a nice looking WiiWare game. Time will tell if it's a good game. The first shot of footage looked like Pilotwings. There's an idea; Pilotwings Wii (Thwii? Sorry, that was just lame)?
The split-second when you see the protagonist from the front towards the end of the vid, is that a Mii?
WiiWare has a 40MB limit. There's NO WAY the game can look that good and also have a decent length. The only way this would work is if the compressions was just mindboggling or it is indeed episodic, which wouldn't be a bad idea.
Why not I will give it a go looks like some great platforming. There is a lack of diversity in platforming these days. Guess its just not cool to make a platformer anymore lol.
