Let's pray that this doesn't foreshadow a 2011 Zelda delay, considering we haven't even seen the game.

I think that prayer better be hoping Zelda doesn't get pushed to 2012.

If a new, full Zelda game comes out this year, I'll eat my hat.

Metroid Prime 3 was supposed to be a launch title and showed up 9 months later, let's hope that doesn't happen here.

I personally can wait for Other M. It looks to be a game that is going to need a lot of work and would prefer it to be up to par when it's released.

But Sin & Punishment? That game has been out in Japan for like 9 months. Thankfully it's only a short delay, but I don't think the extra time is really necessary.

Figures...

I'm sorry but in this day and age, delays are just getting tiresome. If your game can't make it's due appointment then I'm sure another one will.

Metroid: Other M looks good, but pushing it into the Holiday season isn't wise as it's not a must-have for me.

Come on, it's a main Nintendo game. And you should always be expecting a Metroid in August.

Now about LoZ coming out this year...

I'm fine with this as I wouldn't have gotten around to playing it until then anyway. I mean, Galaxy 2, Red Dead Redemption and 3D Dot the month before? Come on.

I love how Joystiq doesn't mention this was said on the NeoGAF forums, not form an official Ninty source. So, rumor and conjecture until Nintendo says otherwise people. Joystiq, please try not to fail at reporting news so much next time? Not saying this won't turn out true, but you just take it as fact even though no official source has said this. Anyone can say "Oh I got an official email saying such and such." At least put down the source as NeoGAF.

The source was an email from Nintendo, which has since been reproduced on their press site (and added as the source on this post):

http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=23359

It's always a good idea to push for linkable sources, but NOT necessarily to assume I got something from GAF and didn't attribute it.

Wow, f.uck you for the delay's, Nintendo. Hopefully it's for worthwhile reasons.

(Only bitter, cause i pre-ordered Metroid and would prefer it sooner than later... of course).

So, does this mean we'll get a Mario Golf Wii in early June? Come on Nintendo, I know you're sitting on it... bring it out already!

But then what would their holiday game be? Wii Vitality, of course, but i would imagine Nintendo would want something more proven, especially proven as a hardware mover, to be in the pipeline.

Either way, this just makes it look more like 2007 again, with Metroid and then a bigger holiday game in November.

Metroid could be delayed again. I'm sure Nintendo wants to have Zelda out by Christmas, but if Shiggy says it won't be ready, it won't ship.

Besides, they have to be pretty busy on 3DS launch titles, especially if it ships in October as rumored.

While I'm a bit disappointed about Metroid, I'm also a bit relieved. It's one less game I have to purchase this "summer" (yes, I realized it's still coming in the summer) meaning I might finally have time to get through that massive stack of other games that's been growing in the past six months. Then again, Mario Galaxy 2, Red Dead Redemption, and I haven't even gotten Monster Hunter Tri yet... Dammit, stop with all the quality game releases already! I need a breather!

Prime 3 and Prime Trilogy did. Hunters had a very messed up development cycle, and i think that one ended up in February. Prime 1 and 2 and Fusion were all November games.

Well I'm personally glad that S&P will have a chance to get more sales now. Was wondering that it would have gotten lost with the next to close release of Mario Galaxy 2. Even with Metroid in the same month.

This i can take or leave. That original schedule was a bit cramped, and this leaves me with an ideal birthday game, and lots of time to play Pokemon and Monster Hunter once i'm done with Galaxy 2 this summer.

August 31st is definitely a placeholder, though. Nintendo releases their games either on Sunday or Monday. The ship date is never a Tuesday for them (though delivery times often make them Tuesday releases)
