Back when The Beatles: Rock Band's Special Value Bundle was first announced, we had some reservations about how much of a "special value" it really was. However, a recent Amazon discount has made its description irrefutable: For just $51.08 (shipping included), you can grab the 360 version of the bundle, which includes a copy of the game and a set of instruments from the original Rock Band. If you can deal with the calamitous clicking and clacking of the series' original drum kit, that's one heck of a deal.
There's no telling how long this discount will be offered, or how many copies of the bundle are still available, so prospective mop-toppers should act swiftly.

I remember when I bought just the game for $60...

It's a good deal, but I personally wasn't a fan of the first Gen rockband guitar. The fact that none of this stuff is wireless doesn't help. If you have no equipment at all or are just looking for a second set it's a good deal. I still need to pick up the game itself, just waiting for it to be $20 or less.

I got the bundle when the game first came out (having sold my original RB1 set which was wearing out a week prior). Got home, discovered why it was called "value". Brought it back, the staff of EB Games learned the same thing, so they gave me a discount on the RB2 set and I bought TB:RB separately. The new set plus game, minus discount and trade-in of my old copy of RB2, brought to a price still much less than the standard Beatles kit.

Of course I ordered it earlier in the week when it was $60. Damn you Amazon!

Why do they have these specials for just one platform?
PS3 could use some deals too ya know?

Maybe the 360 version isn't selling and they need to liquidate?

Please, give me some DLC.
White Album...or Revolver...or anything!
I think they could at least release singles, like Rain.

Why do you continue to cite a source that steals info and does not credit the person who originally posted the deal. This was originally posted on CheapAssGamer.

No amount of money is worth being spent on those instruments. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't wish those loud, wired, failure prone pieces of shit on anyone. Ever.
Seriously, you can get The Beatles for like $30 if you shop around, and grab a World Tour, Band Hero, or Rock Band 2 bundle for well under $100. Trust me, it's worth the extra cash, plus you get a second game that's arguably just as good. Don't cheap out and be kicking yourself when you actually try and use these things. Wait and save up. You can thank me later.

I own both World Tour and Metallica, and they're both just fine. Since Rock Band 2 was a glorified track pack mixed with a patch to fix all the problems with the first game, I didn't really feel like dropping $60 on it after getting RB1.
Likewise I'd already been burned by their shitty hardware. It took me a week of fighting with Harmonix just to have them replace my drumkit, only for them to send me one of the same EL sets that have piss poor hit detection, rather then the marginally better SL/QM sets. After spending $80 on the damn thing, I'll never do it again.
Not to mention that the Guitar Hero games (strictly the main, yearly iterations of them, not the spin offs) actually try to innovate year after year, where as the Rock Band games are, like I said, glorified track packs and bug fixes. Sounds like Rock Band 3 is gonna change that. Hopefully it does, since after all the money they spent licensing The Beatles (which was easily two or three times as expensive as Guitar Hero 5), they still got beat in worldwide sales.

Just to let any potential buyers know: the USB Hub is not included in the box, as advertised. This is a known issue to EA, and if you go to their support site they will send one out if requested.
Apparently they did not think it was necessary to include them in bundles with wireless guitars.

I got the Beatles RB Limited Edition at Target about 6 weeks ago for $62.48. Also got Band Hero complete set for $49.98. Gotta love 75% off clearance at Target.

I have stopped buying these games at even close to full price. I mean the first Guitar Hero I bought at full price with a guitar, with GHII, I got another bundle since I wanted another guitar. Other than that, Rockband 2 was the only game I paid more than $40 for.
I remember when I broke into the whole "band" games side of things so I would have my own set was with Guitar Hero: World Tour for the Playstation 3 for 61.78. There is no way I would pay 150 for all that junk.

You can get the Limited Edition bundle on Craigslist for $60 pretty regularly. Not that impressive as this genre has flooded the market and prices are going through the basement.

yeah, it's becoming a great time if you like the music games. prices are falling thru the floor. RB/GH... they're falling into the same category as DDR and Lips/SingStar... not that that's a bad thing. music for the hardcore music fans. i can only imagine how low sales are for Green Day. I mean, out of all the bands that have transcended eras and touched countless people, would you include Green Day on that list?

I remember buying the limited edition of this game for only $130 the day it came out... I had a 50% any game coupon from amazon because I had traded in a bunch of old games through their trade in store, I didn't even know that they were going to give me the coupon in the first place and when i did receive it I planned not to use it, because I didn't really plan on buying any games for a while. Then I thought well maybe I could pre order the Limited Edition kit with the 50% off coupon, and lo and behold, it worked. I still think to this day that was the greatest deal I have ever gotten from amazon.
