The Just Cause 2 website has official news on the game's first two DLC packs. We'd already heard about the April 29 "Black Market Aerial Pack" (which will give you a new Jet Fighter to play with, along with a parachute addon to create a little more breeze), but less than a month later, May 29 [update: May 25] will bring the "Black Market Boom Pack," with a Quad Rocket Launcher, Cluster Bomb Launcher, and an Air Propulsion Gun, which fires jet blasts powerful enough to send both soldiers and vehicles flying. You don't really get bonus points for saying, "This... is my boom pack," after sending said enemies into the air, but we'll pretend that you do.
Both packs will be $1.99 on PSN, or 160 ($2) from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Also on the official Just Cause 2 blog: you'll find YouTube videos of the game being played back at both slow- and fast-speed, showing off slow motion and time-lapse views of the impressive in-game world. We've put both of them after the break in case you want to give them a look.
Yeah it totally does, except the planes controls bad and explodes when taking off without hitting anything, and if you die it doesn't restart the mission, you are chucked at some base camp and you have to travel back to the mission start again. Just cause it improved things doesn't mean it stuffed some up.
They need to patch the game to where you can purchase two things at once without having to go through that F@#(%$*G cutscene. Also I will pay 10 dollars for a non achievement blocking unlimited ammo mode, I mean with a game like Just Cause 2 it seems the developers are only punishing us by the severe lack of ammo.
I'm not an achievement whore, I just want unlimited ammo. It's killing the fun to be destroying a base and the only thin enemies drop is a pistol or smg with 12 rounds of ammo or less and I have to leave, find a safe spot, call in the black market, wait for a cut scene, spend a lot of money on a weapon, wait for cutscene, pick up weaon, and then find my way back to continue my rampage. The game is amazing fun but this odd direction the developer went regarding ammo is a cause of great frustration considering the first game ammo fountained out of every object in the game.
I use the grappling hook a lot and haven't really had an issue with ammo. Before I go on a mission I will get some explosives to &^%$ stuff up as well.
Yeah, the black market dealer is a PITA. I hate ordering a weapon and then immediately ordering a vehicle back to back. Too many steps involved in doing that. Fortunately, you can actually cut the opening scene with the helicopter flying in short.
The retail box makes you install steam or adds the game your my games list if you already have it. It really isn't available as just online/download purchase?
I'm renting Just Cause 2 from GameFly right now. The damned game NEVER. ENDS. There's like fifty trillion different missions and submissions scattered across an archipelago the size of Texas. I just discovered the identity of Sloth Demon (can you guess who it is? Think REAL hard!) and I feel like I have at least twenty more hours to go. Why anyone would need more content for a game with a nearly inexhaustible supply is completely beyond me. It's fun in spots for sure but I'm already ready to move on.
I was going to trade this game into Amazon (they are offering $35 in case anyone is interested) but seeing this reminds me of how much fun I've had in the game so I think I'm going to keep it.
Nice to see some DLC for reasonable prices. It seems like it's becoming the industry standard to try and screw customers out of content by pricing small amounts of content higher than they need to be. Nice to see a DLC that doesn't make me want to throw things.
