PSA: Amazon's Gold Box is all Xbox 360 today

We hope you understand, dearest reader, that when we alert you to one of Amazon's game-related Gold Box sales it is in the name of public service. After all, any sale that features BioShock 2 brand new for $40 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for $46.50 (until 12PM ET) -- with other Xbox 360 "games and accessories" deals littered throughout the day -- is always worth bringing to your attention, right? And besides, who doesn't enjoy solving a few puzzles ... when they lead to extra savings:

12PM ET: "Prepare to journey to the darkest reaches of space in this RPG hit." (Our guess: Mass Effect 2, duh.)
2PM ET: "BioWare's deepest universe to date just got bigger..." (Our guess: Wait -- Mass Effect 2 ... again? Hmmm ... or maybe the Dragon Age expansion, Awakening?)
5PM ET: "Rock out with your Stratocaster." (Our guess: Rock Band -- likely of the "Rock Band 2" variety. But maybe just another guitar for your collection?)
7PM ET: "A legendary war between two of science-fiction's most popular characters." (Our guess: Aliens vs Predator, obviously -- but they're not "characters," they're monsters!)
9PM ET: "Charge up your Xbox 360 controllers." (Our guess: Clearly, this is the power to shoot energy from your hands. A lightning deal indeed!)
11PM ET: "This hit franchise comes to life on Xbox 360." (Our guess: The answer is Cars. Or, yeah, we have no idea whatsoever ... )

Depending on how cheap AVP is, Ill get it.

It will probably be Mass Effect 1 then Mass Effect 2. Or maybe the collectors edition the second time.

When they say something comes to life, I assume they meant something that previously wasn't a video game... so probably books or toys or something.

My guess is the first one is the original Mass effect, second one is Mass Effect 2 and the last one is FFXIII

Forgot to mention this but but both versions of Bioshock 2 also come with a $10 promotion off of future videogame purchases.

Also, you get a $10 credit on Amazon (think Gift Card) two days after purchase of Bioshock 2. I pounced on it!

Umm, wouldn't the last one be Dead Rising? It is a franchise that started on the 360, and it is about zombies coming back to life.

Credit cards are a source of debt, which I prefer to avoid.

You just need a little self control and credit cards are the coolest thing ever. I've had one for 3 years and gotten over $300 in rewards while paying $0 in interest. I was raised to believe credit cards were the devil but learned that as long as you don't spend more than you can afford, they are awesome.

Which is why I prefer to avoid them. I am compulsive to purchase things when I have money. Cash is a lot easier for me to hold myself back. A credit card is just too easy to swipe and rack up. Besides the way I see it is if I cannot afford it with cash, then I cannot afford to reduce used line of credit. It's a down side not being able to control the plastic, but better to avoid it than ruin myself.

Bravo on committing yourself to your financial responsibility. I seem to be the opposite of you; i.e., I compulsively avoid spending money (sometimes even forgoing food, unfortunately). I've had a credit card since, I think, 1998, and I've never carried a balance. In fact, I had no idea for years that there were people who did. I don't use credit cards to buy stuff I can't afford, only to avoid having to keep lots of cash on hand and to be able to shop online (e.g., at Amazon.com, where my first order was, as a matter of fact, in 1998).

Amazon is awesome, I preordered SSF4 and they sent me a $10 off code, so I cancelled my preorder and reordered it for $26.

Bioshock is on sale Nationwide for $40.

Amazon is giving you the bonus $10 but if you don't want to worry about waiting for shipping and the $10 doesn't matter since you hate shopping at amazon or something just go to Gamestop (and probably Best Buy & Walmarts) and it's $40 also.

The Stratocaster deal is the $300 full-size wooden guitar for $99 with free shipping. I'm a casual Rock Band player at best (can beat most songs on Hard) and even I had to buy one of these for that price.

What if the last one is L4D2? That kind of makes sense. "Comes to life" = zombies?

I know they're not really zombies, but the aliens from Alien aren't really characters either.
