The more modder Ben Heckendorn continues to improve his design on each iteration of the PS3 Slim laptop, the more we think about parting with the outrageously high sum of money it would require to get our hands on it. This latest model comes with an external A/V port, so it can plug into a larger screen "for home use." There's also a headphone jack and a power cable which slides right into the body of the device, increasing its portability by roughly a factor of eight.
You can check out a demo of the latest, and arguably greatest, version of the PS3 Slim laptop just past the jump.

Nice, but I wouldn't use that in public.

Not to knock the mans skill but I wish he'd stop calling the ones without keyboards laptops.
They are portables, and quite nice at that but they are not what I would consider laptops.

I dunno, I think the denotation is just fine. It is a laptop PS3. A PS3 for your lap. Much like a laptop computer is a computer for your lap. Certainly you could not call this a laptop computer, and I will give you that the connotation of the word "laptop" makes you THINK laptop computer, but that's just an example of a colloquialism destroying our language... word.
Granted, I would hesitate putting this beast on my lap, but I similarly hesitate putting the vast majority of laptop computers on my lap as well. They get hot, y'know.
Damn you. I've clearly thought far too hard about this.

At that price you might as well buy a super expensive laptop.

I've loved both the laptops that he has done so far but i think it would be cool to build in a playstation eye as well, maybe at like the top of the monitor, perfect for playing Move games on the go :)

I cannot see the purpose of that, other than pure show off on the "I can do it", mechanical/craft front (in that case, congratulations). Because seriously... it's not exactly slim or portable... I would actually like to have it side by side of a slim, but from the controller's size by the side of it on the video, doesn't seem like he reduced much if any out of it.
It runs on "wall power" as he stated, so that defeats the portability purpose even further. It doesn't have a keyboard... I mean, as someone on youtube said, he is just altering the very very very outer shell of the thing, in the practical way. He may have modded the interior to death, but there is really nothing new in there...
Oh, I lied, there is the phone output thing (...)
