I can't wait for this!

...I probably can't afford it, either!

I enjoyed Darkside Chronicles very much, but this sounds more interactive. I really want something more than a shooter on rails, and I think this might be it!

After the multiple hand cramps with the original trying to contort my fingers into the right position I'm glad this is coming to the Wii. I haven't played the sequel but just thinking of the original control scheme being mapped to the nunchuck and remote feels like its the only natural choice for this game.

When playing the Sin and Punishment (64) you always had that sense that being able to aim with the Wiimote would push the game into God territory. Now we have the sequel, beautiful controls and all.

Just a week or so away now - Europe anyway.

HARDCORE!

The original was insane. I was pleased as punch that I could download it from the virtual console - (more unreleased games in NA, please?) - and loved it. I'm happy that I can get excited for Wii games again. Hey, it's been a while since I've been genuinely anxious for the release some Wii games like I have been with the other consoles and it feels pretty good. Galaxy 2, Other M, and this look amazing so far.

@Foetoid:

Not really. I have each of those games already. While it is a very cool updated collection (with a sexy case), I wasn't all that excited to buy and play them all again.

Is it beatable, though? Or does it have the same arcade-style credit system of the original, such that you can save and quit, but it preserves the number of credits you had left and you can run out...

Mr Khan
You have unlimited continues, and you can continue from the last check point you reached in a stage. The game is more beatable than the original in that respect.

"Certainly, the Wii doesn't feel like it should be home to such a niche game from a "hardcore" developer like Treasure"

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that the S&P is either owned or partly owned by nintendo.

This game sounds intense, much more so than most modern games. I haven't played the first S&P, but I'd love to try out Star Successor whenever it comes close to release. Seems like the perfect adrenaline rush kind of game.

I wonder, does it have multiple difficulty settings? It would seem odd to not have them.

Nintendo published. Not sure how much actual ownership that entails, whether it's like Microsoft and Gears of War ownership, or something more solid.

I played the first game on VC a while back, and the control scheme always felt like a Wii game forced to work on an analog controller. That said, I wasn't a huge fan, and on-rails games (that don't have the word "Overkill" in the title) in general aren't my cup of tea, not to mention I'm not exactly swimming in cash at the moment and there are TONS of games I have yet to purchase... so, I probably won't be picking this one up.

@Alex, Khan and Fister: I'm pretty sure S&P is a Nintendo-owned IP, though I'm not entirely certain.

I have been watching this one but have been on the fence. It looks like it is going to be fantastic but I don't want to get too involved in so many games. Now that Other M has been delayed I will probably pick this one up.

This could be the game that actually tips the scales in favor of me buying a Wii. After May 9th or whenever it is the black edition comes out, of course.
