I didn't get a chance to play the original, but i love games by Treasure. I own the Gamecube version of Ikaruga and i love it.

You might as well grab the first one on VC. It's not that hard, though.

The first game is great, but flawed. The game itself isn't actually that hard in a pure sense. The cumbersome controls make up the majority of the challenge, and not using a real N64 controller doesn't help.

If you play the original, you'll immediately see why the Wiimote/Nunchuck combo is ideal for the series - it's actually kind of weird how tailor-made it seems. If there were a way to retrofit Wii controls to the original, the game would be far easier. Hopefully, the sequel will be increased in difficulty to make up for the improvement in the controls.

Can't wait to play this :)

Should have asked when Radiant Silvergun 3 is coming, if ever.

It's all true. I love the Iwata Asks translations.

Is it just me or does anyone get the feeling that these guys might feel a little intimidated in Iwata presence?

I checked the original and of course the Nintendo USA translation is the correct one. The Siliconera guys either used an automatic translator or someone with terrible Japanese.
