A mystery figure has appeared in the latest update to the God of War teaser site "SpartansStandTall." His reflection (captured above) momentarily flashes on screen during the video loop of the site's rendered thunderstorm. This is the second update to the site; its URL is revealed to players that unlock the God of War 3 Platinum Trophy.
The apparent meter that circles the icon in the upper right corner of the full screen (not pictured) is now three-quarters full (it was one-quarter full to start and was filled to halfway upon the first update), suggesting that the next update will display a full meter and perhaps the ultimate reveal. (DLC? Spin-off? 3D Blu-ray movie? It's anyone's guess.) The icon itself is thought to be representative of the Spartan army's shield; the upside-down "V" being the Greek letter Lamba, standing for "Lacedaemon" (what the ancient Greeks called Sparta).
So who is this mystery man? He certainly looks like he could be angry. And anger has always fueled this franchise, which still has some venting to do.
[Thanks, Geoff]

I'd like to know what he's yelling at to the left of the image. Thinking about his brother it could be a tombstone or something. And what's in his right hand, it looks like some sort of glowing weapon or something, but its too hard to make out.

people on the gamefaqs boards state that the meter filled up on specific dates.
March 18, March 28, April 28, Someone thinks it will fill up on June 8th just about time for E3.

Rumors have the next PSP coming this or next year, and if by some magic this is a launch title, I'll probably go out and buy it and the platform regardless of price.
If it's a PSP1 title, given that I sold my Slim I wont bother. And given that I've had my second PS3 fail on me (first one was covered under warranty, this one isn't), I won't be playing *any* God of War for a while. Never got to play GoW III. =(

Further to what def PD said - the thing on the left side of the screen is a closeup of the back of a head - there's the ear, part of the (bald?) head, and the neck. I'm guessing whoever it is, is looking at his reflection in the water.
Beyond that? Search me. Probably too early to announce a brand new GOW game, so I'm guessing DLC of some sort.

During the boss battle, didn't Poseidon refer to them having crossed paths before? Maybe it's some kind of DLC focussing on that story. And in the image its a younger Kratos looking down into the water (to Poseidon).

They're setting up the new series with "the other one" that is mentioned several times, starting with Chains of Olympus's ending, if memory serves.
Now the question is, do they kick it off on PSP, PS3, or as cockteasing epilogue DLC for GoW3?

If it's not worthy dlc.. I'm selling.
I've replayed, gotten all the tropies.. Just a pain having it now knowing I can still sell it and get a decent amount.

Looks like David Jaffee is going with Kojima's idea, make a character's face appear when the lightning comes. Anybody remember that?

Kratos' brother? GoW 1 introduced the hate... which was forgotten soon after revealing that "Zeus is my pops" crap.

It's Perseus from the new Clash of the Titans
(just kidding, but it would be a cool tie-in ;-) )

Ok I may be way off base but, next to the figure/reflection in the rain looks like Zeus. Obscured yes, but Zeus none the less.
