It appears all the re-dead Necromorphs that Isaac killed in the first Dead Space game aren't exactly happy about being strategically dismembered. EA has released the debut trailer for Dead Space 2 -- for real, this time. Expect a lot of gruesome imagery, some inkblots, and a whole lot of screaming. If you're watching at work, you may want to turn down your speakers. And get back to work.

I'm watching right BEFORE work. Damnit, I'm going to be late!
Speaking of being late, I, apparently, really need to play the first Dead Space game...

I'm in the same situation. The game is the best horror survival action game I've ever played, but the setpieces leaves some things to be desired. The puzzles are quite boring and predictable. And that's why I haven't finished the game yet. I hit one part that I really don't feel like doing whatsoever, and I had it gamefly'd so I figure I'd keep the save file and come back to it later when the novelty has renewed enough for me to slug through that one area.
I WILL come back to it though. That's one promise I owe it to myself to keep.

I loved the story and the atmosphere. I got bogged down pretty close to the end actually, fighting a recurring monster. I got frustrated and shelved it for a while, and when I tried to pick it back up, i was so out of practice it was hopeless. I had borrowed it from a friend and he was wanting to trade it in, so I gave it back to him. If you haven't watched the animated prologue movie I highly recommend it

Deadspace was one solid awesome game. It hits that odd place where it's almost more fun for me to play on Easy than what I'd normally play on.

For me, this game was definitely more fun on Hard and Insane.

Did anyone else here enter the facebook DS2 competition for best killing animation? Well I didn't win, or even get to the finals, but you can see my contribution here:

Dead Space was amazing. Hard as hell, but after climbing a medium learning curve it became an unforgettable experience.
I'm not sure how I feel about hearing what Isaac has to say, let alone seeing what he actually looks like. To me Dead Space was about the dude in the mask, not speaking, just running and gunning and once in a while screaming as he's getting ripped in half. This commercial seems cheesy in a way. But maybe it's the edit.
I hope the devs don't get all gung-ho and stray too far from the roots of the original.

Wow. Love that closing shot of the helmet forming on Isaac's face.
Can't wait.

I have a feeling Isaac's going to be a little bit crazy. Every other "survivor" in the Dead Space (including Downfall and the comics) went insane to some extent. The ending of the first game seems to imply Isaac is losing it. That final moment looked more like a hallucination than an actual attack.
I'd like to see the psychological damage of the Ishimura incident play into Dead Space 2. There's no way you could take part in all that shit and not come out with a few screws loose.

My guess is Isaac started hallucinating at the end of the first DS after being exposed to the marker for so long (I think the little bit at the end when he gets back on the ship was all his imagination). And we know DS2 takes place in a city of some sorts (city in SPAAAAACE) so that's where I'm assuming the psychologist resides. So throw those 2 together and you've got DS2... It's just a theory... I'm probably wrong...

Dead Space is the current king of survival horror and it was everything Resident Evil 5 was not. It was moodier, scarier, more violent, better told, and it even controlled better (and it exposed RE's whole "not being able to run and shoot is more scary" argument as stupidly flawed.) The game wasn't perfect, of course. Reoccurring enemies, repetitive fetch quests, and a lack of set pieces marred the experience somewhat, but the overall thrill and tense combat and psychological story more than made up for it. I can't hear "twinkle twinkle little star" ever the same way again. Bring on the sequel.

The controls were tight except for the useless run button. I thought analog sticks were supposed to take care of that.

That was awesome. The first game is one of my all-time favourites. So looking forward to DS2. Isaac will rock the house

I love those little DS sound effects during Isaac's helmet morph, er, transform, er, power up.

Dead Space 1 was the best $9.99 I ever spent on a video game! I can't wait for the second one.

Like some of the others, I need to get off my ass and finish the first game. I had to shelve it a few minutes in, so I should be ok just restarting from scratch. DS2 looks and sounds like it could really kick some ass. Downfall is great, and a must see for anyone who likes/loves survival horror (me!). I also need to check out the graphic novel...

Did they infuse him with Necromorph DNA? Seems incredibly unsafe.

the fact that the background music is my favorite band (Russian Circles) and Dead Space 1 was like my favorite game, i swear the devs are just making this game for me.
