With just over 24 hours to go before the target month of April expires and Valve – no stranger to a pushed release date – misses its announced release window for Steam for Mac, the developer slash platform provider has sent over the following terse release: "Valve today announced the public release of Steam for the Mac is May 12. Please stay tuned for more information."
And that's it. That's less than two weeks away by our count, which isn't so bad when you think about it. Why, when we were kids, a Valve delay meant at least a year! You young folk have it easy.

I heart having an actual release date. Gives me something to count down to... which annoys everybody around me! Bonus!
But yeah, I've deleted TF2 from my PC partition because it was taking up a decent amount of space, so I can't wait to get right back into it.

As a Mac guy, it feels cool to finally be frustrated by Valve delays just like all the other platforms guys. Bonding hugs!!!!

My excitement for Steam on Mac is overwhelming. That being said, I'm at least glad we have an exact release date set.

I've been doing the same lol. Valve, Bethesda, and Blizzard are the worst offenders!

A release date is nice to see.....let's just hope I can enjoy playing L4D on my Mac. I'd love not to have to Boootcamp anymore.

I don't see why Valve invented "Valve Time" to joke about their development cycles - it's not funny, it's just appalling project management.
There is no excuse for stuff like Episode 3 to be taking this long - Valve are lucky they're self publishing, because any sane publisher would have been breathing fire and cracking the whip ages and ages ago.
