Has a release date been given for this? And is it going
to be a timed exclusive or simultaneous release?

Forgive my ignorance...

Joystiq you are teasing me too much. Monkey Island is one of my all time favorite series! For anyone curious, the release date is supposedly July 15th. 1920x1080 widescreen!!!!!

I am like a little school girl right now.

Thanks for the release date, I wasn't aware.

Damn you, I shouldn't be thanking you. I was already playing the waiting game for Skate 3, Red Dead Redemption and now Monkey Island 2 SE.

Is it bad that I looked at that screenshot and the first thing that came to mind was "drink spit thickening drink, spit on candle"...?

I didn't quite like the first remake that much. Wonder if it's gonna be any different this time around.

Should be, this is the better game by most people's accounts. And they're making it look a lot more like the original game, with a less goofy looking Guybrush and such. I honestly can't wait.

Controls are supposed to be better, too. You can control Guybrush with the stick, although I think that might detract from the original charm of the game.

Guess you're right. Looking at the screens, the overall art design looks a tad more faithful to the source material. When playing the originals, I always thought of guybrush being funny, but not goofy-looking.

Oh, and about the new controls, I'm guessing they'll work just fine. Back then, a mouse was the way to go, but nowadays, I'm kinda glad they'll try and adapt the game to a more regular controller scheme.

Awesome job :) I love how you can switch between the old and new graphics at any given time.
