What's with all the bashing? Spending time doing something meaningless? We all do that even when we "have a life". Does it really "mean" that much to go do, bungee jumping, spelunking? Driving around in a high speed car? No, we do it for fun. I do mua thai, but I wouldn't say it gives meaning to my life. Cut the man some break for having his own fun.

Says the guy who has made 400 comments across 3 separate Joystiq forums. How much time do you think you spent posting to gaming forums? Or playing games in general? Do you think there's "justification" for THAT kind of behavior compared to a guy who spent time playing ONE game?

You make it sound like he stabbed 20 people.

At least this guy got a YouTube video about his accomplishments and recognition from the game's developers.

Do what you love.

All I wanna know is, was this done at work or home? Bosses just love to hear of their employees breaking video game records while on the job.

Of course he will play again. He needs to finish the game 3 times to get the true ending, where Tim Curry will pop on the screen and say:

"That's how it could've happened... But how about this..."

Hey, man, I'm not made of money; I stick with my ten-a-day Bejeweled Blitz, thank you very much (I hate timed demos...). And don't day say I've quit; no matter how many times a chain of disappearing gems has forced me into an invalid move, I haven't yet abandoned the Ruby Perfection Achievement.

And just so I can put it somewhere, that Blaster one in the top right (X0 number of gems destroyed in one move), somehow I think I skipped the Silver one and just got Gold. Digital crack, that game is.

Are commenters purposely being ironic saying that a man who played videogames a lot wasted his time on a blog full of people who I assume play videogames a lot? Sure, it was only one videogame, but if he enjoyed it, I don't see how that's any worse than any of us. Hell, I'd rather play 100 hours on one videogame I loved than 1 hour on a disappointing one.

@killdash9

We wouldn't necessarily see a -2 billion score. Sure, when you look at it from a pure binary, it makes sense, but, from my experience, usually when you have an integer overflow, weird shit just starts happening, depending on the language used.

Like the entire score going blank or whatever happened here.

I bet he's glad they didn't use an unsigned integer for the score. It would made more sense (no negative score), but then he'd be only half-way done. If they used a 64-bit integer, he'd have another 6-12 billion years to go.

I once went for a week with the same Hexic game on my 360 playing it a few hours every day.

This was before they started dropping dead, it was like the week after launch.
